  1. Any old Ranger fan can look back and see TONS of potential….too much of which didn't get a chance to come together.

  3. He’s wrong. It was a team that was always the third or fourth best team in hockey and the rangers brass was brilliant in realizing they’d maxed out their value and sold off the assets while still high to complete a quick rebuild that could win them the cup NOW as opposed to being always competitive but falling just short

  4. Nash never showed up in the playoffs, Staal was washed, St Louis was washed, Haglin had speed but could never finish, and Vesey is a better player now than he was then (and they reacquired him).

  5. That team had more than enough time to figure it out, we all saw the writing on the wall except this guys which is understandable

  6. This new Rangers team is 20x better than the team from 2014-2017. Sorry Kevin Hayes, but I'm very glad the NYR management decided to rebuild. It's paying off dividends.

  7. Anybody seeing the rangers and kings Stanley cup knew the rangers were robbed of that championship. those refs were carrying the kings Soooooo much. EVERY GAME.

  8. They went to the finals, then game 7 of the conference final, then got absolutely smoked in round 1 in 2015-16. Wtf do they mean if they gave that group 2 more years lol. They had clearly already peaked…

  9. They are in big trouble right now with salary cap and missing players due to injury or suspension. Several players have too many minutes on ice. Clearly, the roster management does not work well for them. Under the current conditions, I don't think they can pass the Hurricanes or the Devils if they finish the regular season at third tbf.

  10. Yeah sorry guys as much as I loved those teams they weren’t getting any better past that 2017/18. Maybe if we lived in a world where the cap didn’t exists but people forget how players like Shattenkirk would eat 8 mil, Hayes himself would end up drawing almost 7.5 mil just the next year as a UFA, this is the very same team that was throwing out 4 mil dollar contracts to players like Brendan Smith…. The math doesn’t add up, loved those rangers teams but it was clear that accepting a rebuild was the best decision rather than being caught in a hamster wheel of mediocrity

  11. That was not a talented team.. Rick Nash was never that sniper that rangers traded for
