  1. If it turns out Petry wants in, it would free up Savard to be traded. Petry and Matheson would be a killer first pairing, makes me chuckle to think, what if they still own their home? What if Jeff pines for the team he built his career on? He wasn't great when he got here, but when Weber was out, remember how good his game got? This could be a freaky unexpected turn of events. I liked the player, I understood that in a time like Covid etc, his wife would want to have her kids with her parents, what if her folks got sick, or kids, or Jeff, or her? I love his little boy, kid was a superstar!

  2. The genius of Kent Hughes again.. Hoffman for a 2nd round pick!! great! Let say Pitlick for the Goalie deSmith (31) who can be good with Montembeault … We could trade Allen for a good value while he is still good, and Légaré is a good player.. and we have Petry ($2.34M) to trade for something like a 3rd round? I like it.

  3. Jeff Petry does not want to play in Montreal, remember ?? His wife won't live in Canada, remember ? Traded before the season for sure.

  4. DeSmith better than Allen…..sorry, I don’t agree. If you’re moving a goalie , Primeau will never be the next Carey Price he was advertised to become.

  5. DeSmith is not any good, sorry but you will see. Nice guy, but he is small, bad positioning, he doesn't belong in the NHL. He would be a nice AHL goaltender. The 2nd round pick is nice tho.

  6. Savard a better dman than Petry. I expect Petry to be dealt either before the season, or certainly once the season gets underway. Some team will have injuries, or need help on defense for a playoff push, and a Jeff Petry would bring a nice return.

  7. Would you do the following trade?

    Montreal Canadiens:

    Jeff Petry (50% retained), Jesse Ylönen, Jake Allen, Flames 1st 2025, Avalanche 2nd 2024, & Edmonton 7th 2024

    Maple Leafs:

William Nylander, TJ Brodie, & Dennis Hildeby

  8. We can afford to lose a couple forwards, we need vets and competition on the back end. Habs have a huge prospect pool. The 2nd rounder is bonus.

  9. Petry signed his contract in Montréal so how could he put Montréal on his no trade list? Lol

  10. I love the ad. But im an American. I love to be in Canada. But im a Pennsylvanian. And a penguins fan. But would love to be Canadian.

  11. We got rid of Hoffman. Great.
Clearing Pitlick gives more space for rookies.
    We got a 2nd rounder.
Allen of DeSmith will get traded.
Petry at a discounted rate… I think he gets traded.

  12. How is Petry and Desmith a step in the right direction those are NO direction players.
IMO the REAL reason is they simply had no buyers for Hoffman similar to SanJose having very few teams to work with so they all made moves that they were mor or less forced to do especially MTL because they had to lose a couple forwards. The problem is now they need to lose defense as well lol they have been hoarding too many WEAK assets forcing management to make weak trades because teams KNOW they have to move these added assets.
Yes for once I agree that managment likely feels they might be able to trade Petry but although he is only costing a team a couple million his cap stays normal at 4.6 mil well minus the 25% I think it was.
Let's be serious how come habs fanbois are acting like Petry is stil valuable in spite of EVERYONE else claiming he underachieved in Pittsburgh and was basically a bust.
DeSmith is absolutely pointless but maybe again they are trading anotehr goalie but then we still have a useless goalie in Desmith so again makes very little sense.

  13. Think about it. Would you put the Habs on your list when they just traded you a year ago because you didn’t want to play here. Why waste one of your 15 teams. Oh I going where. You sure. Lol

  14. i guys ! Keep up the good work, I'm a Habs Digest fan. I like your good analyzes of Habs news. For my part to learn that these 2 negative assets will no longer be in the locker room next season made my day :))))) Next season : Be ready for : POSITIVE Mental Toughness (La Dureté POSITIVE du Mental) sera a l'Honneur pour la nouvelle saison des Habs
