Bring 'em all back! 8th times a charm. It's covid's fault. Dubas & Shanahan should have been fired after the Montreal series. Come on guys!
Dubas is no longer with Leafs and Steve should be ignored being in Dubas' camp
By Friday the GM will be thier I said that Monday … sticking to that if not then Holy smokes take your sweet time Shanny.
Steve is just wildly inconsistent. The Leafs should bring in an analytics guy because that's the direction they've been operating under Dubas (5:40). Steve two minutes later, why would Treliving want the job because Shananhan and the board have been making all the decisions behind the scenes (7:13). It would be great if the Leafs had a GM right now (9:12). Pick one and stick to it.

Disagree with your guest. Dubas took a power and money grab. He knew the state of the team heavily leaned towards "Having" to bring him back. Shanahan made a hard decision on a lack of integrity play by Dubas. Not renewing this guy's contract, the guy you took out of junior and paid millions to apprentice and run the club. Dubas should be paying Shanahan for such royal treatment, .
Nope, disagree with your guest, again. Every team dealt with Covid. Dubas made his own bed with those contracts. Unforgivable to give those core guys nearly everything they wanted. Highest paid, short contracts, NMC, and Matthews in particular…ugh, right into FA with the NMC in the last year? Who the heck was paying off Dubas on the side? That contract was horrendous covid or not.
It's hearsay Shanahan told the players they would not be moved, first off. I do agree with the guest, though, that it's insanity to run this back. Matthews must be moved for several club defining reasons.
Disagree with your guest, yet again. The Leafs GM gig is the premiere General Manager position in all of hockey. And as for a new GM not being able to properly work out his vision, well it certainly seems with the amount of futures paid to attempt to be competitive, and the amount of futures and money used to fix mistakes, that Dubas had plenty of leeway for his vision. Not sure your guest should think it otherwise for a new GM?
Run it back. Sounds insane, I know, but Leafs aren't getting better with trades. Fans got some accountability – a head rolled, as it should have, now it's time to let cooler heads prevail and see if the core can figure it out.

If you got back and watch some of the play off games that Marner and Tkachuk Domi played, you know how Tkachuk is one of the key guy
Not that anyone cares what I think, but Steve's basically got the same view that I had when I watched Shanahan in his one-sided presser. A hissy over-reaction to a way late counter from Dubas & his agent. Dubas overplayed his hand from my perspective & Shanahan did not handle the counter like a true pro & has created chaos where there should have been none. Bungled by ALL parties, but Shanahan has possibly hung himself out to dry, because if this whole scenario goes sideways, I guarantee MLSE will fire Shanahan, because they wanted Dubas to re-sign. That I know for a fact & Shanahan basically confirmed it, so his decision to pivot away from Dubas that late in the game, is not viewed happily by the board. All just needless.
The fact that Vegas being a less then 10 year old franchise has 2 more Stanley cup appearances then then leafs do in the last half century should make Steve rethink his life choices.
