As a habs fan, i like this trade, Hoffman was useless in Montreal and there's barely any place for Pitlick anymore, Desmith for me, means that Allen or Primeau are gone soon and Montreal can flip Petry at the deadline , at a cheaper aav , they can probably get more if he plays well

I think all three teams made out very well. The Penguins absolutely killed it, they did everything they needed to. Dumped 3 of their worst contracts and worst players, and gained EK.
Casey DeSmith is just an amateur disc golfer stuck playing goalie because he has a contract to do so. He's not a 1b, he's a depth goalie, backup at best. I'd rather have Hutchinson, personally.

As a sharks fan, getting rid of Karlssons contract and retaining only 1.5mil of it is a MASSIVE win. They need to embrace the rebuild and that contract was hindering them ever since they signed it. Now there's still Vlasics contract, which is pretty terrible value.
The craziest part is that yet again Hoffman has been traded to the Sharks because of Erik Karlsson. 😛

Pens get to have either letang or karlsson on the ice for 54 minutes a night. Losing a couple picks before you would rebuild and gaining cap space to do that is awesome.

As a Penguins mega-fan, just wanna say wow. Unbelievable times to be a penguins fan after the dark and dreary few years with Hextall. Truly is unfathomable how much damage he managed to do, but Dubas has done a wonderful job of rectifying things AND adding a player to at the very least get people very excited and invested.
Moving on from Petry was necessary—I liked the acquisition (didn’t like what we gave up) but he really struggled here and was way too expensive.
And getting out of the Granlund of it all was just…unreal. One of the worst sins committed by one of the worst GM’s I’ve ever seen, I truly cannot think of a player I’d wanna target LESS than Granlund after we shed a bit of salary at the deadline. Age, play style, contract, and our particular offensive group Granlund was quite literally the worst fit humanly imaginable. Not really his fault, but so glad to be done with that.
This is a brighter era for Pittsburgh, and I know a lot of people still think we’re 50/50 for playoffs, but in my mind we shed literally ALL of our useless fat and replaced it with competent support, and added an all-star defence man… we still have areas to fix but another good top 9 forward down the line and I think we’re a real real threat

I love this trade as the penguins are in my top 4 of favourite teams also and Karlsson is my favourite Defence man in the NHL I hope he keeps up hjs play as i would hate for him not to make it to the HOF and as for your cats name I did some research on cute girl cat names my favourites were, Daisy, Luna, Bella, Raven and Lola, I love cats and dogs but I really love cats their so cute and cuddly ❤, keep up the good work ❤️
Mike Grier is a bozo. Doesnt land any of the Devils top prospects in the Timo trade. Passes on Michkov for turnover machine WIll Smith, who IMO shouldve went around 10ish in the draft. And now with the Karlsson trade, he didnt land a single prospect. GMs around the league know he is clueless and will continue to take advanatge of him.

Excited to see what Kent Hughes will go for when he moves Petry & most likely Allen before the deadline. There might be a need for another Right Winger in Laval as Ylonen will most likely make the team (and letting go of Dubé only to replace him with Légaré is pretty stupid as is) but apart from that… What's in store Kent ? Casey DeSmith is such a great addition to the team already.
