Honestly, I feel like Foote taking a two-way contract just means he will get a chance to crack the roster but this signing makes me think he is a replacement for Nemec in Utica.
Good move by Toronto to address the continuing uncertainty in goal. Calgary and Edmonton probably need to have a solid 3rd option for call up this season, with their own uncertainties.
I'm surprised to see this many North American players signing with the KHL. Not a lot of Europeans (outside of Russia and Belarus) still in that league anymore.

You’ve gotta be really ignorant of contemporary issues to be signing in the KHL. If you are a Westerner and you find yourself in Russia, there is a better than 0% chance you will be thrown in jail as a political pawn or falsely accused of spying. It just isn’t worth it.
