La ligue finlandaise de hockey Liiga a organisé un match All Star Alumni aujourd’hui. Tous les joueurs étaient des finlandais qui avaient à un moment donné joué en Liiga. Il y avait aussi beaucoup de joueurs de la LNH, certains déjà à la retraite et d’autres qui jouaient encore dans la LNH. Certains des joueurs les plus connus inclus dans le jeu étaient Esa Tikkanen, Kimmo Timonen, Pekka Rinne, Juuse Saros, Jyrki Lumme, Mikael Granlund et trois générations de Kapanen, Hannu, Sami et Kasperi. Le joueur le plus âgé du jeu était Lasse Oksanen, âgé de 80 ans. Liiga a un trophée qui porte son nom et qui est décerné au joueur le plus précieux de son équipe, un peu comme le trophée Hart Memorial. Certains joueurs portaient leurs maillots de Nashville à partir du deuxième tour, car il y avait autant de joueurs Preds dans le match.

Things you love to see: Peks and Juice sharing a net again
Aside from Pekka Rinne playing in net again, my favorite detail from this is that it looks like the All-Star team [non predators] jerseys use the old Nashville Predators number font, and of course, the current/former Predators are wearing the jerseys with the new font with the guitar strings. I can’t tell if that’s something that the players always wear or if that’s attention to detail, but it makes my heart happy.
Tolvanen in a Preds sweater is bittersweet.
