    Habs fan here, nothing but respect for Trotz. Good on the Capitals for giving him a standing ovation; considering that he helped them win the cup in such a legendary fashion.

    I miss this dude being behind the Caps bench for every game. His attitude and love for the game was always so awesome. He gave me some of the best memories I’ve had being a lifelong Caps fan. Genuinely glad he is doing so well with the Islanders

    If you think this man only won a cup because of a stacked roster you're dead wrong. Look at the level hes getting a team picked to finished bottom 5 to play at. Amazing coach. Caps should be ashamed they didnt throw the checkbook at him for at least the short term while the roster return is virtually the same minus Beagle, Grubauer. Had a slim chance to win 2,3 cups over the next 5 years now they look lost.

    He outcoached his former team this recent round. I think Isles have the great chance winning it all this year. They have the right blend of young and veteran leadership. Isles v Canucks in SC.

    Trotz should've been paid in Washington. Brings you a cup but leonis didn't want to pay him fairly as a top coach which he is. Caps always trying save money hiring inexperienced coach's instead of paying for the best. Who knows if they would've won another one, but the caps wouldn't of been out in the first round every year since. How much money is lost when you only play 3-4 home games instead of 8-16. I feel bad for Ovi if he was on another big American team or say a Canadian team, this crap wouldn't happen, Trotz would've been paid and Ovi might've had another ring or two.
