  1. Dorion and DJ are on the shortest leech imaginable.
The team needs to stay healthy to compete this year. Their forward depth is pretty thin and as much as I like JBD, Lassi and Kleven, I wouldn’t want any of them subbing into the top 4 yet.

  2. This team will live and die by the goaltending. Last stable goalie we had was Craig Anderson.. Forsberg and Korpisalo were a great AHL tandem that won a Calder Cup together. If they can give a combined .905+ Sens are a lock imo.

  3. Ottawa are probably screwed because they are in the Atlantic …

Florida, Tampa and Toronto are almost a lock for the playoffs, unless Boston crashes hard they are going to be competitive, Buffalo had one of the best offense last season and Detroit improved quite a bit.

Montreal are obviously in a rebuild, but they had 2 of the worst season in the history of the NHL related to injuries, even destroying the record for games missed by players. So if healthy are they that bad, probably not.

The Metro is also the 2nd strongest division so Ottawa will have even more competition for a wild card spot, Pittsburgh, NYI and Washington are the most likely candidates, their top3 wont change.

To summarize good luck Ottawa, you’d probably make the playoff in the West.

  4. As a die hard Wings fan, Ive been on the Ottawa bandwagon for a few years. I love the physicality they bring and they're fun to watch. Not a huge fan of the Tarasenko signing but I still hope they make it this year.

  5. Interesting fact: for the time debrincat and kubalik have been in the league at the same time, kubalik actually outscores debrincat at 5 on 5. That said, the sens will need to replace his pp points, which the return of norris will do and then some. Sens have one of the best pp point producers of the past decade in Giroux, but our pp is so stacked, hes on the 2nd unit. Id also like to point out that giroux got his career high in goals last year at 35 years old playing with tim stutzle, so i think its reasonable to expect that if he plays with tarasenko this year, and tarasenko stays healthy, he could get back to 35+ goals, especially since tarasenko has one of the best shots in the league. Stutzle quietly had one of the best seasons a 20 year old has had in the past 20 years, and hes still not satisfied with his level of play, which to me signals an even better year this coming season. As for defense, i would take the sens defence over alot of teams, including teams we know will reach the playoffs. Everything goes well, the sens will only need steady, average goaltending to get them to the playoffs, and i think korpisalo/forsberg can deliver that and then some, as long as they can stay healthy. To me, the only question marks going into this season are: 1. Shane pinto's contract and 2. Which prospect will push for a roster spot out of camp.

  6. I have Ottawa coming in 6th in the Atlantic albeit improving with 90+ points, just behind Buffalo. I have Toronto as a lock to get into the playoffs with Boston, Tampa and Florida also making the playoffs albeit these last 3 having much more uncertainty surrounding them (i.e, should any one of them miss, that wouldn't shock me).

  7. I've been watching Ottawa for awhile now on the low …they're good team …playoff team that could surprise

  8. Forward core improved massively Tarasenko and Kubalik are better than just DeBrincat but imo the dcore is the strength of the team they just need systems that aren't stupid from the coaching staff

  9. Sens make the playoffs and it’s a 🎉battle of Ontario in the first round.. book it!

  10. If the team starts slow and the whole coaching staff gets fired that could be the best thing to happen for this team they just need coaches that actually play to the strengths of the Sens and not constant dump and chase and man coverage in your own zone it doesn't work when you have so much skill on your team and the man to man in your own zone just creates chaos and tires players out much more than playing a zone system

  11. How is this a downgrade from last year? Debrincat sucked last year and this year we replaced debrincat with norris and added Tarasenko and kubalik on top of that
