  1. My hope for the Penguins in the 2023-2024 season is that they do it with passing. Not like a 1990s style East-West team, but like those efficient, poised, formidable Red Wings teams of the late 2000s. The puck moves faster than a skater, a forecheck, and is free of the restraints of declining athleticism due to age. I think clinical passing is the key to the Penguins’ capacity to elevate their game to levels of consistency not seen in many years. Oh, and go 🇸🇪🐧!

  2. Good Show DK. Fascinating to watch the Pens this year as a Leaf fan. Will Dubas's moves end in a first round exit again? Let's hope Jarry gets the support he needs.

  3. In the end it's whatever works best, but I wouldn't disrupt the familiarity that Letang and Pettersson already have established just for the optics or base sensibilities of it all. It's not like Pettersson and Karlssson are "off the boat" Swedes looking for some comfort level in another native countryman, like you had when those Russian players first starting coming to the NHL. The cultural differences then with cold war era Russian players, versus a NATO, westernized country like Sweden today aren't anywhere near the same. These two have been pairing and playing with players from all over the world for a long time now. No reason to shake up all the defensive pairings at the same time because of one player unless it simply works out to be better over the course of the season. Let the players figure out who works best with who is my take, because sometimes even the square peg fits better in a round hole.
