Ducks definitely have expectations. Calgary probably is in a don’t stink phase at this point, considering the disastrous offseason. I think the Bruins are going to be in a pretty dire situation compared to last season, I’d think they’d be on the make playoffs tier. I have no clue how Pittsburgh can be above New Jersey and NYI, let alone the top tier.

Until we get Landy back I’d drop the Avs to make playoffs and go on a run. We got our cup with this core, anything more is gravy. When Landy comes back, expectations may rise.

I don’t think Vegas is cup or bust anymore, nor is Tampa or Colorado. At this point for at least us three a cup is just gravy and it’s more go on runs in playoffs.
Now don’t get me wrong the moves all three make are gonna be to try win more cups while they can but I don’t think it’s an expectation now

Honestly I think San Jose and Philly are the only two with zero expectations. Out of Montreal, Chicago, and Anaheim there’s AT LEAST the expectation that young talent blends well and performs with a promising nod to the future. IMO a pretty cool thing to look forward to if a fan of any of those teams. Not like they’re completely hopeless.

People seem to think that the blue jackets are a much worse team than they actually are. Last season they got plague with injuries and never had their real lineup for a game
Also the oilers are not cup or bust. The oilers have pretty much always been a McDavid Draisaitl dragging the team to a playoff off run. Until they do some like like the bruins did last year of going all in they aren’t a cup or bust team
A lot of these “cup or bust” teams aren’t actually cup of bust team. Pens (now with Karlsson), Avs and Vegas are really the only cup or bust teams. The other ones are the playoff teams that are expected to make deep runs but aren’t a cup or bust team
Cup or bust is exactly what the bruins did last year with going all in. Pens are in that situation given the core is coming to end of their careers. Avs are there because they are a powerhouse team that basically runes through most teams in the regular season. Vegas is there cause are also incredibly loaded
I don’t follow Tampa much so idk what’s happened with them since 2032-2022 season but they could also be a cup or bust

Toronto a « Cup or bust » team?! They only just made it to the second round this year in how long. You could probably knock them down a tier or two.

With their moves, Pens are definitely in the COB mode. So are the Canes.
The other teams are obviously contenders for the Cup but not about to bust. That implies a last ditch effort with their core, IMO.

Ducks are a tier too low IMO. They should be with ARI, CBJ, & VAN.
They made a couple of big acquisitions (Killorn & Gudas) and are getting Drysdale back after he missed nearly all of last season. Their roster has way more talent than the other 4 teams in the bottom tier.

Wild going on a run as an expectation is ludicrous. We haven’t made it past the first round since 2015 and there’s a chance we don’t even make the playoffs this year.
