  1. I agree with Mark this is a good contract for both Matthew's and the leafs anything more the 4 the AVV goes up large. KC I was shocked to learned your a Habs fan. But your show about the leafs

  2. It is a good contract KC and Mark i agree because they don't have to deal with matthews when he's coming close to his mid 30's and who knows if hes still the same player when hes 33/34 …Saying that Matthews is definitely in the Tier 1 of the NHL in premiere talent , I would say my top 7 players in the Show are 1. Mackinnon 2.Mcdavid 3.Matthews 4.Makar 5.Stone 6.Draistal 7.Hedmen (no goalies) and KC I went to Montreal last August it's a nice place saw a Rammstein concert with my lady they should be good in years to come GO Leafs!!!!

  3. It's commensurate with his abilities; obviously other Canadian hockey fans hate Toronto to an extreme, mostly because of Toronto Fans. The hate just masks their frustration with their own failed teams. However, IMO Toronto fans should try to actually root for their team for once, just sayin; but thanks for Larry Murphy and Justin Holl, they will both be very useful for mine.

  4. Im not here to hate i know youre just a startup , but i just wanted to give my oppinion as a viewer.

I dont like when videos like this give half the story just to paint theyre narrative of a situation.

#1 You;re comparing Matthews to McDavids contract. They couldnt be any further from eachother. the difference between a 4 yr and an 8 year contract in this cap system is HUGE. Expecially when McDavids 8 year was signed. If Matthews signed an 8 year contract like McDavid did theres no doubt about it hes asking in the 14.5M-15M plus range. what does that do to the cap percentage then?

The fact is Matthews took 4 less years so in 4 years down the road he could still milk one more big contract out of the leafs at age 29-30. If Matthews truely wanted to help this team he signs an 8 yr. 13.5M deal. period.

#2. Torontos farm system. One of you mentioned its got lots of players who are going to come up and "light it up". Unfortunately that just isnt the case. In Toronto we have a way of over hyping our prospects and putting so much pressure on them, its why you see guys like Marchment leave and all the sudden become a 25 goal guy or whatever. Torontos farm system is REALLY weak. one of the thinnest in the league actually. Dubas always found ways to give away 1st rounders to get rid of bad contracts. / Marleau/Mrazek etc.

The fact is Toronto maybe has 1 or two guys that are even pribably capable of coming to the NHL and even playing 4th line minutes. Those being Holmberg and Steeves. With the passing of Amirov this farm system has only gotten thinner. We still have no idea what robertson is .. He cant stay healthy . and I dont consider Knies part of the farm system anymore. so just my take on that,
