Nah, Rakell between 2016-2018 was just as good. He just got stuck on a Ducks team that was awful once Getzlaf and Perry lost it.
What I still do not understand is why so many pencil Rakell in next to Malkin when he has extremely good chemistry with Crosby. Have we not spent large swaths of Crosby's career looking for guys like Rakell? Someone explain this to me, when Rust could just as easily play next to Malkin.
Rakell was one of the few things that Ron hextall did right. I have the same feeling you do about Rakell.. have a safe an awesome day DK
He's my favorite Penguin. Of course the core are favorites but Rakell is an awesome player and to watch him no matter what line he's on is a privilege. IMO DK.
