    >Sabres Still Heavy in the Market for a Defenseman

    >Dixon also notes the Buffalo Sabres are actively looking for additional help on their blue line. He wonders if the team could secure Noah Hanifin or another elite defenseman. Hanifin, a prominent name this summer, has indicated he won’t remain in Calgary long-term.

    >Dixon adds that Buffalo is associated with nearly every trade market defenseman, aiming for long-term deals. Whether it’s Hanifin or Carolina’s Brett Pesce, who could choose the highest bidder in 2024, the team seeks defensive stability.

If we are able to land one of these guys with an extension in hand, I’d be ecstatic. I still would’ve liked to land a goalie this offseason, but it appears that ship has sailed (could always circle back to the market at the deadline if you’re in a playoff race and goaltending hasn’t panned out).

    Imagine a D corpos of:

    Samuelsson – Dahlin

    Power – Pesce/Hanifin

    E. Johnson – Clifton

Yes please. As it stands, our d corps should be marginally improved from last season with the additions of Clifton and Johnson while also factoring in some internal growth. The addition of Hanifin or Pesce would push our back end from a question mark to a true strength.

    Hanifin – Dahlin

    Power – Clifton

    Samuelsson – Johnson

Haven’t we already heard that Pesce wouldn’t waive his no trade to come to the Sabres or was that just hearsay
