Keefe extension…are you kidding me!! Guess will be out first round or second but oh well guess like they say always next year. What a joke. I still say bone Shanahan has to go with Keefe or we ain't winning nothing. More heart ache for us leaf fans and poor Steve dangle.
I hate when keefe runs 11 forwards and 7 dman. As some one who played defense. It sucked not having a consistent d partner. You are constantly switching up your game to adjust to your d partner. Consistency is key and the more you play with one guy the more chemistry you have with your partner the better. Being able to predict whether your partner is going to pinch the blue line or get back affects your decision on that play. Which in turn will lead to a goal or stopping a rush against you leading to a goal against.
Him running 11 and 7 and throwing up the blender just hurts chemistry. It can be good to throw the other team off in certain situations but he does it too often.
They should have hired Gerard gallant.
Keefe is not a good coach. He's average. The reason the numbers are so good is because he has one of the best teams in the league at his disposal. The playoffs show that he gets out coached when the other coach actually tries against him. Unfortunate that they resigned him. May the playoffs failures continue
Die hard leaf fan here, can't believe they didn't buy him out. Hopefully under a new gm he stops coaching like a millennial

Man, this fanbase is the worst, you crap on the team every chance you get. Keefe is growing as an NHL coach like anyone else. This is the first year, he has assistant coaches for the whole offseason and for the most part the roster is set. Let the guy figure it out. Jon cooper didn't win a cup with the lightening for 6-7 years as the head coach and the Leafs beat them last year.

They dont change things enough, can they turn things around and start win whit same team and coach? I dont like IT. I would have traded Willy and/or Tavares and retooled The bottom 9 for better shape, and new coach to Make sure team IS ready for playoffs (shape and tactics)
