I’ll make it simple.
Nylander & Jarnkrok for Miller & Kakko/Lafriene.
Clearly the trade doesn't work cap-wise at all. I mean you can use logic gymnastics to try to send this guy down or move this guy, but end of the day doesn't work for day to day. Seems like every made up trade scenario uses teams that have players the other team wants, but doesn't work realistically. Then again people keep thinking the cap is going up drastically like they have been saying for YEARS. I just don't see a 4 million bump, maybe 2 million at most, but that won't be known until end of the year revenue review.
As for the trade it self…I see it helping the Rangers, but I don't see how this makes the Leafs better at all, especially that defense and goaltending. Either way moves still have to be done to get both teams cap compliant after the trade.

Rangers can pull it off either waiting for free agency with another center or trade. Panarin has two years left and Kane and vets like wheeler have plugged holes.

Re: Peters….morals are great as long as they don't interfere with business!!! Geesh…..what a shocker to see him back behind the bench. If he showed genuine remorse then I'm all for giving him a 2nd chance but he hasn't shown remorse as far as I can determine.
Re: Keefe…..not really surprised…. it makes sense to extend him but keep him on a short leash. If they stumble…. he'll be gone.

Leafs can get proven producers for Nylander. Why would they settle for potential? Chytil is showing signs of being a fine forward, but he doesn't have the track record yet. Kaapo is too green. I think it takes Chytil and Miller to get Nylander to NY.

Who’s the Toronto fanboy who came up with this? How many cups have you won with Nylander? The NYR are not giving him 7×9.5!!! Lijegren is softer then a baby’s ass Schneider would run him into the boards, Olie Jokinen didn’t do crap until his 5 th year and Kakko has mirrored him to this point Kakko will score 30 goals this year take it to the bank!!
11M in & 11M out roughly. The Rangers win the deal as Nylander is clearly the best player involved. Kakko has been underwhelming as a high 1st round pick. Soft as a grape. Chytil's been a 20 pt centre except 22/23 when he hit 45 pts. Schneider has upside as a heavier RD than Liljegren, but the deal as proposed makes no sense for Toronto. My feeling is Holmberg may end up having as much offence as Chytil, but plays more reliable D for 3.6M less & had 13 pts in 37 games on the 4th line, not in the top 6 like Chytil. Pass.
Well let me tell you, I live in Lethbridge and go to 30 games a year and was just going to buy season tickets with my best friend as we go to gms together, and now screw that, and we will not even be going to a single game till the organization changes there mind to that bullshit hire…He had his chance and I am so proud of you for touching on this today…I spoke with the team office today and like the lady at the desk can't do anything, but hope she passes it on… They just lost two huge fans as of today or until he's gone period…There are a lot of others that deserve their chance at Coaching the Canes and you are right on the spot that ass has never apologized or anything…What the hell is our ownership thinking…I don't forget after 5 years…Thank you once again for bringing this issue up…Well, at least I got to watch Skinner grow up to become an NHL goaltender as well as others…Ya, your right I am beyond pissed…Thanks

trading for a player like Nylander would be a peak NYR move. as an NYR fan, i am not a fan of this trade. Braden Schneider is not someone i want to let go of and I don't think Kakko is as big a disappointment as NYR fans seem to think.
What about Babcock he never apologized to the players in Detroit or Toronto for what he did to them. And he now coaches the Blue Jackets.
I would do this deal with the rangers in a second.
Here is my trade proposal i made up.
To nashville: nylander sign and trade 7x 9.5, liljegren and a 2nd.
To toronto: askarov nyquist and tomasino.
