I see this as Doro and Cotter changing out on the third line
@Tony C….."William has always had that comfort zone" True, but this team is different now. The expectations are higher and it needs to remain known that you have to produce to be on this team. If he doesn't, he will get moved,pretty simple
Why would you change line two -they had great chemistry during cup run…its almost as if you don't know anything about team sports…wait till end of show to bring up the crazy stuff…just sayn
Karlsson has always been an excellent defensive forward..a kind of role player that makes this team very successful.
Roy could definitely do more, the question is whether or not the 4th line with Howden could still be a great 4th line.
As far as Cassidy goes, Lines 1 and 2 are set. When it comes to Line 3, I believe McCrimmon sees a future problem and that will determine who's on what Line this season. I believe the Team will make it a priority to move Roy to Line 3 with Karlsson and move Amadio to the center position on Line 4 with Carrier and Kolesar. Why's that? While the Team would benefit this season if Amadio scores over 20 goals on Line 3, remember, he's a UFA July 1st. If Amadio has a career year, VGK's won't be able to afford to resign him. A 20 plus goal season would bring him a $3.5 million contract. So, if VGK's want to resign him and keep him at a reasonable salary, they need to play him on the 4th line to keep his point total down. Now, as far as Roy goes, on Line 3, he could score 100 goals w/Karlsson and he'll still only make $3 mill for the next 4 years. Roy and Karlsson make a fine pairing 5 on 5, the PK and the PP. Roy can replace what's lost from Smith. McCrimmon is a smart guy and I'm certain he realizes that he could lose Amadio next July. Be smart. Don't turn Amadio into a $3 or $3.5 million player ….. at least NOT n 2023-24.
