  1. Nylander would be montreals Tavares, the contract would severly hamstring them in a couple years

  2. The Gallagher issue will have to be dealt with eventually.

I trust our management team in that regard.

  3. Leafs fans constantly denigrate Habs players but they are first to dream them on their team. It demonstrates their lack of confidence and the team is going down a dead end.

  4. If Nylander wants to come to Montreal he just has to take highway 401 east when his contract has expired. He will finally have a real chance of winning a Stanley Cup in the most prestigious and titled Hockey organization in the world.

  5. The people saying they won't miss gally, what are you, fucking 16? Pay your respect to a man who's only second to Price in his time in MTL.

  6. You're right Josh. Nylander doesn't fit the timeline for a trade due to our rebuild IMO.

It would be foolish and would make no sense for the HABS management to suddenly pull the plug on Caulfield and Slaf in order to accommodate Nylander.

  7. Nylander would be montreals best player, would rather sign him at his ridiculous demands then see him in a habs uniform

  8. His salary alone is already a no,and his lack of commitment sometimes is just not what we need. For 10 million we can find better.

  9. Dach is a legit 3oa pick with a lot of talent. He had an early injury in a dumpster fire franchise so his numbers weren't showing it.

  10. Is anyone else dreaming of Nylander winning the cup with NOT the Leafs? 😂 I think Nylander winning the same year he goes to a new team would fit right in with the Maple Laughs storyline!

  11. I don’t even believe that trade was proposed

  12. Forget nylander, the habs have something good as they won’t overpay what Suzuki is making, the only reason the habs aren’t power house going into next season is the horrible contracts bergevin has handed over , as soon as hugue gets gallagher out of Montreal, only then the habs will have the cap room to become a contender , regardless of all the prospects they have , if gallagher isn’t gone soon the habs might lose guys to free agency cause of that 6.5 they’re paying gallagher , good thing about price being on the ltir is that the habs only pay 20% of his salary

  13. Nylander bottom line is not coming to Montreal. This talk is nonsense. I hope Toronto signs him to A 4year 48 million contract . And hope for 4 -1st round exists lol .

  14. The only way that makes sense to add Nylander to the Habs is to sign him at an over price FTA contact. The term of years is the most important part of this contract.

  15. lol, those Nylander rumors are based on wind. To start with, Hugues or Gorton wouldn't be willing to sign Nylander for the kind of money he will be asking, if there were still doubts, we all saw that behind the scenes video with Gorton saying that signing an older player for a big contract is very risky. And then, they would trade their best scorer who just signed an incredibly low contract for 8 years?!? A guy who we all know is an incredible leader with his attitude, smile and dash in exchange of a guy who got on strike against his team not that long ago!!! Just thinking about it is taking Hugues and Gorton for the dumb and dumber duo!!! And that's notwithstanding that we would also throw Slaf and/or Guhle!!! Sorry, to me the second part of your podcast was way more interesting!!! lol!

  16. Nylander is a shrub DON'T I REPEAT DON'T trade for him, spoiled rich kid, just like most of the Leafs. They will never win a cup with that lineup.

  17. Gallagher is second on the team with shots on goal still even when struggling gets 2 shots per game so it is an indication if given the right opportunity he could easily get 25 goals.I would have no problem trading Caufield but it has to be for a legit center. We could have of course drafted out own center but the scouts decided it was better to add to our pool of about 15 defensemen.
To say they are happy with Dach is an embarrassment because nobody in their right mind hopes for a Dach with their first round pick.

  18. When I picked the guys I thought should make the team after preseason I had Harris on the roster.I have not had any problem with the Habs defense it is everything else that worries me.Trudeau can play I like what I see in how he thinks about the game Struble also looks solid and imo is only one year away.We are STACKED on defense.
I would trade Slafkovsky in a heart beat and it wouldn't take much but of course I would try and get as much as possible.
I'd trade Slafkovsky for Lafreniere and I'd ask Buffalo for Cozens but they would likely laugh at me and offer me a bag of pucks for Slafkovsky.

  19. There is no need to trade/buy anyone anymore this year. We have everything we need for this season, maybe the goalie situation is not perfect.
We have older guys, with good enough numbers, we have Caul, Suzu and Dach as young stars, we have Slaf and RHP to work with and develope on NHL ice.
This year should be about polishing things out, after that we can go and buy who we need to fill up the holes we find this year.
Year after that we get to play playoffs again. And year after that we have SC.
Slaf said it SC with Habs in 3 years. This is the way.

  20. Hey Let's trade a future 50 Goal scorer who signed a team deal for a 40 goal scorer who wants 10 mil
    Gally is not tradable atm

  21. Caufield has won more rounds in the playoffs than Willy « will he take a hit for the team … nope «  Nylander .

  22. With all the NHL bodies and those pushing into the ranks plus all our draft capital, I expect something big to happen.

  23. I think Gallagher is basically unmovable at this point and a buyout makes no sense unless the cap space is urgently needed for something. I think you keep him on the roster until he LTIRetires or his contract runs out. Maybe buy him out in his last year to clear space.

  24. As for Gallagher: I would definitely be sad to see him go, but I wouldn't blame the Canadiens for such a trade. Hopefully he can stay, though, and finish his career with the Habs.

As for Nylander: That is a tempting idea in the first moment, but I also think that this trade would be too costly. Let's see how this turns out in the future, though. Who knows how far the Habs will develop this season, and if it's better than projected, the management can still try and sign Nylander next off-season when he becomes a free agent (granted the Leafs don't sign him before then, which they most likely will, but we shall see!).

  25. Nylander is a great player but, a big but, he’s demanding much more per year than all the other actual players and this would destroy the mentality that the Habs are putting together. So lets just pass on this guy and let’s keep building with the yougn players and soon, very very soon we are going contenders.

  26. I wouldn't be able to walk into my office getting paid 6 times more than I'm worth.

  27. That’s not the leafs ask, that’s what that writer is dreaming of.

Gally doesn’t need to be traded. Finding takers for Armia, Dvorak , Allen is more important.

  28. I really like Harris. Okay, he's not flashy. He won't put up huge numbers. And he doesn't show a lot of physicality. But he's solid and reliable. I only wish they weren't constantly trying to bump him from the lineup for guys like Barron, who isn't half as solid as Harris.

  29. There is no way the Habs should trade for Nylander. Nab him as a free agent maybe, but if you can't no worries. There will be other players out there to use our cap space on.

  30. I know we have nothing to talk about and thats why we're here but Nylander is a good 6 years outside of the habs timeline.

  31. A leaf fan at work was saying cole is not that good now leafs want him 😂😂😂 how bout no. Keep your suposed to be better team😅

  32. Leave Gallagher in Montreal. The money tied up in his contract will be less of an issue as the cap increases. Showing loyalty to Gallagher improves team spirit and encourages players to stay.
Why would anyone trade for Nylander? Wait until next year and pay him the 11 million he wants. Helping Toronto out of their cap hell is not a wise move.
