Discutons. #Oilers d’Edmonton #Oilers #LNH

  1. The thing about players like Kessel is that when you mention their name, WAY too many people immediately conjure up images of the player in his prime and think – WOW; we could get "that guy" for league minimum?" But what they forget is that he's 35 and he's not "that guy" anymore.

On the face of it, would a 35 year old Phil Kessel be a nice add at a minimum salary? Yeah, possibly. But as Tyson says, we probably already have some players here who could provide the same thing or better for the same price. They just don't have the name cachet of a guy like Kessel.

Personally, I'd far sooner give some of the kids down on the farm a good long look-see before I worried about any more mid 30-somethings who are trying for one last run.

  2. Phil the Thrill would be a great locker room guy with 3 cups and league wide likeability the fans and the squad would love this guy if they can they should snap him up. A league min is a no brainer, nothing but plus's.
