Love the both of you guys but if you keep wearing hats you’ll go bald by end of season
during camp could be good time to grab second pair defenseman by trading winger(s)?
Agree with some of the points about Miller's actions over the last couple of season; but on the other hand, maybe the C on his chest transforms Miller somewhat… forces him into understanding that the time for 'antics', and 'sulking', is over? As well, A Captain's job is to organize the players; to get the team functions together, the players all on the same page, etc. With Miller living with his family over in West Vancouver, away from the shenanigans of downtown, where most of the younger players all live, he can have the time to do the off-ice functions of the Captain too. He's become a family man, taking on that responsibility, and that really (often, HOPEFULLY) changes a young man into a real Man. I think we give him that chance, and see his response. And again, I just don't like seeing the young guys forced to take on the responsibility and pressure of Captaincy. (Yeah, yeah… people pose examples, like Landeskog, who regardless developed into a great player… BUT, how MUCH BETTER YET could Landeskog have become, if he DIDN'T have the C on? It's an unanswerable hypothetical, but it's as arguable as saying that wearing the C DIDN'T affect him, just because he's still good.) Let the young stars concentrate on being YOUNG, and further developing into STARS,.. Give them the time to consider what they did successfully and how they screwed up, in THIS GAME, rather than having to put that all aside to get into a media scrum to answer inane questions posed by reporters and forced to spout trite answers, essentially wasting everyone's time; BUT PRIMARILY, taking time away from themselves! (How ANNOYING is it to have to go through that charade after every game, every practice… Ugh. Let someone who is experienced, can let it flow off their backs, do that job. It's nothing to a Miller, who has seen almost all of it before. It's something to a Hughes, who just wants to play, and get better.) These are the points where I see Miller the best, if not obvious, choice. Cheers
I think they should give it to Miller, NO QUESTION. Why saddle a youngster, who is only supposed to be concentrating on continuing to develop into a superstar, with all that responsibility? Miller is signed LONG term, has taken over the de facto Captainship on the ice last season, and is finally, as we watch the transformation before our eyes, maturing into a family man, and responsible player, has been OVER a point a game scorer in his career as a Canuck, BLEEDS emotion and will to win, and can settle easily into the job being a captain entails. Let "the kids" have their LIFE, their single LIFE, let them have their fun when they're not working, and allow them to concentrate on their development when they are working. Miller needs to be wearing The "C" come opening day faceoff! Cheers!!
Forget a leadership group. A winning team has 1 leader. A real Captain is a vocal leader. Canucks have had too many guys wear the C who "lead by example" I want my captain to be vocal, work hard on and OFF the ice, communicate with the officials and hold his teammates accountable
Almost every team has there best player as Captain. I want a guy with character. Just because a guy plays the most minutes doesn't make him a leader.
If any team is willing to take Myers do it. Immediately regardless of return
Bowman and Quennville were there to share their experiences covering up sexual assault
