Could be any number of people… Particularly Canadian owners are all pretty directly involved in their teams.
I’m pretty sure he’s actually trying to protect the city of Vancouver, not the team. He saw the devastation that was caused when we went deep into the playoffs in 2011, and has be determined to keep us from going deep into the playoffs again ever since.
Could be Pegula or Dolan too. But ya sounds like him.
If he didn’t meddle then Jim Benning is just unfathomly bad at GMing
Pretty sure he was talking about Columbus’ owner, he said the same thing on Halford and Brough this morning but said it was about their owner
It must be Aquilini. ‘I have to protect it’ is rather self-centered and delusional. It implies that the speaker believes himself to be smarter and better than everyone else. He’s the only one who can protect the team. And, as such, he’s the only one who can hire people. If someone else were to do it, it could go horribly wrong, so he has to do it himself. No one else is smart enough, no one else hires good enough people. What a curse! Being so brilliant – and rich – and wonderful all the time. No one else can even compete.
In other words: it’s a massive micro-managing narcissist speaking. In the dictionary under ‘massive micro-managing narcissist’ you will find Aquilini’s picture…
Could be many owners, not just Vancouver fans who think their owner meddles
Elliotte is annually involved with the CFKF telethon night, so wouldn’t surprise me if he’s built some sort of rapport with Francesco. I listened to the pod this morning and immediately thought Francesco
probably more likely to be the owner of the Rangers, Buffalo, or Boston.
I highly doubt Fried went to the guy who owns the org that current has a human rights issue working its way to the courts
I was thinking it was the canes owner
That sounds pretty clearly like Francesco to you because you’re a Canucks fan. Of course it could be FA but there are other owners out there. Regardless, whoever the owner is, they make a fair point.
32?! C’mon now!! Thats… 31 more thoughts then anyone needs to ever waste on these meddling slum lord clowns!! Fuk ’em!
