Les Sabres sont fiers d’annoncer que le style de vie sera maintenu ! (c’est-à-dire qu’il y aura une publicité pour un casque pour les matchs à domicile)

Gonna be on the blue and black helmets this season.

    Massive blow to the vibes.

Advertisements / sponsorships on helmets are so fucking tacky.

Owners: we only make a little money. What if we can make more by adding a tacky logo to our players helmets?

Fun fact: the reason the sabres don’t have a jersey ad is that nobody will buy it. My friend is a CMO at a fast food chain who got emailed about buying the jersey patch last year.

As long as there isn’t any ads on there jerseys

Lots of teams have ads on jerseys and helmets, and many of them are better off financially than the Sabres in a small market. This was inevitable. The Leafs, Yankees, and Lakers all have jersey ads but the Sabres shouldn’t? Come on. Btw I’m not a Pegula fan but this is how professional sports work these days.

Do people even notice what’s on the helmet during games?

  7. helikoopter

This is a dumb thing to complain about.

Wouldn’t the helmet ads be part of hockey related revenue? Aren’t revenues what drives the salary cap?

its not bad. Hell even the Yankees have ads on their jersey now.

I’m torn. I hate the idea of plastering ads like nascar and I highly doubt the revenue is anything but extra play money for someone. But my wife is a travel nurse and as far as it’s concerned I guess it’s better than Nabisco or some crap.
