2:47 G hits the nail right on the head here. The goal for an NHL team should never be a playoff berth, it should be the cup, so why lie and say the goal is to make the playoffs? No one on this team, in the event they make it to the finals, would look at a game 7 series loss and say "well, we reached our goal, so we are happy!" No, they would be disappointed and frustrated at losing. In short, good on the players for not falling for the trap of setting themselves a mediocre goal, because they are better than that.
