I grew up watching Leetch. I didn't fully appreciate him until he was gone. Fox is approaching Leetch levels of play. If Miller can think the game the way Leetch did, and Fox does he would be better than both of them. He has the talent, and the skill to make it happen, but what will set him apart from the aforementioned is that Miller has the physicality that both Leetch and Fox never had.
I agree with Rupp about Kakko. I could see him being the breakout star of the season with 31 goals and 64 points. Wheeler is a solid pickup. Rupp is spot on about Laffy too. Laff is the wildcard. If he can get it going we will dominate. That's a big IF.
I'm leery about breaking up Kreider and Z. I'm also very concerned about Panarin. We start juggling lines around and Panarins game nose dives we will struggle to make the playoffs. I would like to see Cyhtil Center Panarin and see where it goes.
While a Trochek, Kredier Wheeler line would be tough to defend against and would putn up great numbers, you are basically leaving Goodrow on the 4th line again, and he is wasted there. He is a solid 3rd liner and can be moved up if needed. As Gallant said, there are only so many minutes in a game that can be played. We are going to need guys like Bonnino to grind out some minutes, There won't be a lot of even strength time for the 4th line
Rupper didn't even mention newcomers potentially making the team like Cuylie or Othhaman. IMO from what I have seen so far Cuylie is barely an NHL player. He does not skate well, he is slow and has no footspeed. He can grind it out on the boards, but in open ice he is a pylon that will be skated around like a skating drill. Could Cuylie get better? Possibly, but he won't get better at the NHL level only getting 4th line minutes. He should start in the A.
The same goes for Othhaman who is the exact opposite, high pick tom of skill but is buried behind vets and other first-round picks. The Rangers have a long, DEEP history of ruining first-round picks. Let him start in the A and learn that version of the professional game. Othhaman could be a candidate to replace Laff of Laff can't get out of his own way this season.
The defense scares me a bit. The Rangers need more physical play from the guys that don't normally play a physical game.
Goaltending should be solid. I'm not sure how much Quick has in the tank. The Rangers need at least 15 starts and 10 wins out of him. If Igor goes down we are in trouble. The season will be over.
In closing, I don't know what to make of the Rangers this season. After the crash and burn last season, I have serious concerns that they will make the playoffs, and if they do make the playoffs they will struggle to get a wildcard spot. I also think my negativity has been embedded in me to such a degree that I use it as a self-defense mechanism.

Sure they may still make the playoffs but their total lack of grit & cojones will undress them again. Excellent goaltending can only take it so far.
Rangers had no cojones from their Vets in the playoffs and died like dogs so the response was to fire their great coach.
Rangers as an organization is clownshoes and the futility will continue. A total laughingstock organization for an orginal 6 franchise.
Loved Fox from the beginning. Not anymore. If you ask me winning the Norris stunted his growth. He looks for calls way too much and his skating is not good. He hasn't done anything to improve his skating and is a liability defensively because of it. Fox is no Leetch at all. I'd take McAvoy over Fox.
