[Ryan Novozinsky] Selon The Salem News, Cory Schneider a annoncé sa retraite. « Le New Jersey était un endroit formidable pour ma famille et moi », a déclaré Schneider. « Mes enfants sont tous deux nés là-bas, j’avais d’excellents coéquipiers et c’était un endroit formidable pour jouer. »

This hurts. **Points to flair**
Always loved Cory. He is, in my eyes, one of the most elite goalies this league has ever seen. Fucked by injuries and terrible teams iced in front of him, I’m sad we’ll never get to see what his true potential could have been.
God, imagining this current Devils team back-stopped by 2015 Schneider gives me feelings.
With how he’s talking maybe he’d be willing to join the front office for goalie development.
Blessed be all groins 🙏wish we could’ve done more right by him.
Goals4Choreigh never stops
Literally broke his body trying to carry some of those shit ass teams from years ago. Will never forget the Ginger God
The pants never made you look fat, Cory. Godspeed.
Has a player ever sacrificed so much for the Devils and received so little
Saw Cory for the Bridgeport Islanders. Comeback win where he came up pretty big for them. Gave me a blocker bump on his way in the locker room after I cheered him on.
I was actually sitting next to Skarek, their backup and he spoke very highly of Cory. You can tell he’s a great person. All the best to him in his retirement!
Sad day. There truly never were enough Goals for Coreigh until it was too late.
This man was the 2014-17 New Jersey Devils. Always a joy to watch even on the most dogshit teams.
My favorite way of knowing when a « Devils fan » is a certified 🤡 is when they post things like « Cory sucked » or something similar.
Schneider fan til the day I die
He was a fantastic goalie, but he’s one of those devils I just do not care about at all. Been a Brodeur guy since I became a devils fan, and I knew those years with Cory at the helm were going to be rough no matter how well he played. Great player, but he’s apart of a time in devils history that I would like to forget even happened. Sad to see that his career got so quickly derailed by injuries, hopefully he doesn’t have any lingering affects now.
#GOALS4CORY
Can I get one last #Goals4Cory?
Idk why this always sticks with me, but I will always fondly remember his performance in Game 5 vs Tampa. Years removed from when Cory would keep them in games when the offense wouldnt score, we thought they turned a corner with a high-flying offense led by MVP Taylor Hall, but in that game 5 the offense dried up and left Cory out to dry. He tried his best but it sadly wasnt enough.
He was the only reason why myself, and many others, watched that terrible team night in and night out.
So long, Choreigh
Sad day. In his prime, Cory was an excellent goalie, sadly with the Devils in our « lost decade » after our 2012 SCF. I was looking at his NHL SV% for any season where he played 10+ games:
|Year|NHL Team|GP|W|SV%|
|:-|:-|:-|:-|:-|
|2010|VAN|25|16|.929|
|2011|VAN|33|20|.937|
|2012|VAN|30|17|.927|
|2013|NJD|46|16|.921|
|2014|NJD|69|20|.925|
|2015|NJD|58|27|.924|
|2016|NJD|60|20|.908|
|2017|NJD|40|17|.907|
|2018|NJD|26|6|.903|
|2019|NJD|13|3|.887|
Six consecutive seasons of .920 or higher, and some tough years with some poor Devils teams.
Wishing Cory all the best for his next career post-hockey.
Would love to see him join our broadcast team. He’d have such great banter with the rest of the msg team
Dude was awesome and I’ll never forget his bank ad.
