I’m not holding my breath. Hopefully hits the 25 goal mark and plays a physical game, not being a defensive liability.

He is what he is at this point. If he manages to stay healthy that would be a great.

Engels is so embarrassing sometimes. « Poised for a break out season ». C’mon bud, that’s ridiculous on many levels.

Don’t do this 😅 love BJA, but he won’t be an impact producer. He brings physicality and pace which are important, and we’ll be glad to have him in the playoffs if he sticks around until the next time round

  3. WintertimeLivingEasy

We can get a lot for him if he keeps playing like that.

  4. BlazeOfGlory72

Press X to doubt on that one. The dude is 29 and going into his 10th NHL season and has only ever broken 32 points once in his career. Anderson just is what he is at this point.

  5. I’d rather get a full, healthy, season from JA than an injury marred 40 game/40 point season.

  6. crissdecaliss

Lmao buddy played against AHLers can we calm down

  7. Breakout ?????

Shit here I am thinking I’d be happy if he hit 40 points.

  8. FBR_MC

We’ve said this every season he’s been here.

« Appears » is the key word here

Anderson is always very good after long times of rest, it’s not surprising he was great yesterday. If he can be this good every game then he’ll be amazing but I don’t think it’s gonna happen.

But he took an arrow to the knee

  12. bcgrappler

As others have said. I don’t get this one. He is an on pace for 20-25 goal guy that due to style and durability will miss some time.

If he hits 20 plus goals it’s a big win.

  13. Gamotino

He always play well at the start of the season. Consistency seems to be his main problem

  14. ukrainianhab

If anything he’s going to regress lol don’t see it at all.

Funny how Drouin was “constantly underachieving” considering his 5.5M cap hit so we let him go; meanwhile ever since he joined the Habs, Anderson never got more PPG in a season than Drouin — with more ice time and the same 5.5M cap hit.

In other words, no faith whatsoever in this “breakout season” clickbait theory. Anderson’s less than a year younger than Drouin and will not magically grow hockey IQ at 29.

the thing is that it’s always like this with thus guy. He will be blazing through the ice and gaping everyone effortlessly, borderline dominant for a couple of games. But then he disappears, and he also has issues with finishing

Unfortunately Anderson is a third line player, being paid like a high second/low first line player.
He’s literally our William Carrier, except I’d much rather have Carrier.

He makes basically what David Clarkson made with a salary cap that is 20 million dollars higher.

What he brings is fine and the style is coveted by just about every GM in the league for a reason.

I dont know what else people are asking for

I imagine will just have his typical season. Don’t get me wrong, I like the guy and IMO he would be a major positive addition to any team wanting to go deep into the post season. Josh is up and down during the regular season but, when the game is big, such as is the playoffs, the guy comes to play. This is why he could draw a top draft pick (or two) on the trading market. As far as I’m concerned, he’s young enough to still play a roll when our Habs are ready to contend. As a result I want him kept unless the offer is a sure fire prospect or a top 5 pick minimum.

Excellent. Need all the vets to boost their trade value.

  21. HoodFellaz

He will play hard for 45 games instead of 25 so that could make a big difference ![img](emote|t5_2r10m|5676)

  22. skradmore

He plays such a run and gun game with high physicality that it’s hard to imagine him staying healthy for 82 games playing that way
