J’ai vraiment aimé la façon dont Norlinder a joué hier soir et comment il a été utilisé sur le PP ! 1 passe décisive également sur le but de Caufield. Que pensez-vous de Norlinder jusqu’à présent ?

Think he had a good game but also think he’s been overtaken by the glut of LD prospects we have. Not opposed to him having a great Laval season and boosting some trade value, but not sure he has a spot in our future plans beyond that.

He didn’t look totally out of place in a game that was essentially against an AHL team. Good vision, usually looks really good skating the puck out of the zone up-ice.
That said, he is not strong enough, and he’s still slow to make decisions. He’s too easy to move, doesn’t move opposing forwards enough, gets bumped off the puck easily. I don’t really see him as an NHL option at this point.

I think he’s fun to watch offensively but would be a black hole defensively, even on the bottom pairing. He should have another year in the AHL and I’ll remain optimistic. He was defensively noticeable though!

I think he has improved a lot since his NHL stint 2 years ago, but a bit soft when defending and in the corners ?

His skills gots a lot better for Laval, and that’s what I appreciates about him.

Looked great on one side of the ice. The other was sort of a disaster, considering

Nobody looked good on our pp last night. What an embarrassment watching a bunch of AHL call ups on the Senators have a functioning powerplay, while our powerplay, with actual 1st unit players and playing against a bunch of AHL penalty killers, couldn’t even gain the zone for most of the night.
If I see that stupid backward pass to Suzuki one more time I’m going to vomit. It didn’t work all of last year, why would you think it’s going to work now? We still lose the puck at the blue line, it just takes longer.

He’s like a slightly worse Barron to be honest. He was very much over shadowed by Guhle and Trudeau

He has to produce offensively to offset his defensive shortcomings.
As in: his defense isn’t NHL-level, so he has to put up points on a regular basis just to justify being a regular. At any level.

AHL or wideman bench spot

I like his offensive game but he struggled defensively
Now he was paired with Keeper who had an even harder time so who knows
I really liked his Red vs White scrimmage tho

Still a long ways to go for Norlinder I’m afraid. Too many pieces ahead of him

Has skill but likely will go to Laval.

I think he is a future Lidstrom

He’s got a LOT of catching up to do to climb the depth chart. If he continues this way he’ll have a chance for a call up due to injury.

I think y’all are quick to dismiss Norlinder. He doesn’t even have a full year worth of games in professional hockey…
He looks way more comfortable in the ice than last year. Only 23yo. I’m not ready to give up on him just yet.

Really strong skater, good active stick and very solid in the offensive zone and at the blue line. Doesn’t have a physical game to speak of. For me he’s ahead of guys like Trudeau, Struble and Mailloux purely because he could play in the NHL as a PP specialist this season and not look out of place. Long term he’s probably not going to be better than either of them, but as of today he can play.
