  1. Yes it was a long shot for Brandon being off 2 years putting family health first very best to him 👍 thanks for the update Patrick

  2. So are you and toff going to do a Q&A on Friday or Saturday so we can ask some questions that we may have. Do you think there will be a trade so we don't loose anymore players for nothing

  3. Thanks for the video Patrick. Wishing Brandon and his family nothing but the best. Spots are earned, not given away. We'll see who earns a spot or perhaps earns a claim on the waiver wire.

  4. Shame aboutbsutter, but wish him and his family all the best in their future!!

I’m wondering now which guy will. Glad to hear about caggy sticking to condors and not going somewhere else. I liked him in the old days, haven’t seen what he is like much after he left though.

  5. Wishing Brandon Sutter the best in his retirement. I hope Lavoie can crack the roster this year. Imagine having a Holloway-Lavoie-McLeod line. I think Adam Erne might earn a contract with the Oilers, since he can fill in the toughness and depth Kostin left behind.

  6. Would have been nice to have a Sutter on the oil . Good luck in retirement. Thanks for the update.

  7. Shocking is right. Maybe I was too optimistic. I really thought he was going to make the team. He just didn’t have it physically. Big hole there now. Lavoie is garb, Ernie isn’t a full time NHL player. Pete is too inconsistent. This is going to be interesting 🧐

  8. I think the Oilers will be stuck with both Ceci and Kulak throughout this coming season unless they can move Ceci before the trade deadline to free up a spot for one of either Kemp, Gleason, or Niemelainen, even if cap retention has to be involved. Next fall Ceci will only have 1 year left on his deal and Kulak will have 2, which may make them a bit easier to trade or buy out.

  9. To my eye, Broberg hasn't hit it out of the park. He's waivers eligible. So instead of risking Neimo on waivers now, I'd see if he can handle rotating 6 – 7 D with Desharnais, and take the typical Holland d-prospect patience with Broberg and have him play heavy minutes in BAK and earn the first D call-up.

Neimelainen is 25, Broberg is only 22. Neimo's time is now or never, so if he can handle the first 3 months, then we have a winner with a huge and competent D-corps. If he can't handle it, then the team has at least given him a fair shot and can then call up Broberg or make a trade.

  10. It’s a tough decision for that 12F and 7D, which also means it’s an inconsequential decision. It’s a depth spot and will likely have very little impact on games until multiple injuries occur. Even then, since none of the guys really pulled ahead, they’re all interchangeable.

  11. Good thing Sutter made this decision now and now during the season. He did the club a favour giving us three more games to evaluate. Shocked Lavoie is not stepping up in the preseason. Bit of a shame considering how long he’s been in the system and in the AHL.

  12. I myself think its going to come down to Desharnais and Kemp for that 7th spot on D. Ceci has been unremarkable so far and could see one of these guys taking his place. it would free up a bit of cap space…if he's eligible for AHL play or waivers.

  13. Great Update Vid Pat, God Speed Sutter & his family for a wonderful retirement, Hope Lavoie makes a impact tomorrow against Seattle I still routing for the kid to make comeback. Jensen Harkins seems like a option to look at the waiver wire so it's possible EDM might look at him.
