Vrana has to be on that second line. Dude is a game breaker and I’d argue for the first line, except Buchy might be your best player on the entire team.
(Red Wings fan, coming in peace, missing V and wishing him all the best! My partner is a St. Louisan and Blues fan first, so I watch a lot of your games and cheer for the former Wings – V, Sunny, and Leddy)
Swap out Vrana for saad.
Give me Hayes at 3c and then Scotty p for a bit over Calle. I’d rather have Tucker in ther over Rosen tbh. Rosen is fine but we need to develop the next generation.
100% want Tucker playing.
We have way too many D men. Scandella could get a 3rd rounder at the deadline. Maybe higher for Vrana and/or Kap depending on the season they are having.
Hofer G1 ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Not gonna lie, that 4th line is giving me wood.
Sammy is a winger and hayes is a center
Looks good on paper! We’ll see if that translates to the ice this year.
I’d prefer Hayes centering Saad and Neighbors on the third line, bumping Blais to the 4th and Vrana to 2nd. Two veterans working with Neighbors could be great for his development and that 4th line has some serious forechecking potential.
Buchnevich-Thomas-Kyrou
Vrana-Schenn-Kapanen
Saad-Hayes-Blais
Neighbours-Sundqvist-Toropchenko
I’m not doing handiness because who cares.
Forwards:
Buch – Thomas – Kyrou
Vrana – Schenn – Kapanen
Blais – Hayes – Saad
Neighbours – Sunny – Toropchenko
Defense:
Faulk – Leddy
Parayko – Perunovich (I liked them together in the game the other night)
Rosen – Scandella
Goalies:
Binner
Hofer
Scratches:
Bortuzzo
Krug
Walker
Now before you bring the pitchforks, I did not select Tucker because the only two people I could see the blues possibly sending down to the minors is either Rosen or Perunovich. I like both those players. I prefer tucker over krug or Bortuzzo, but Tucker needs ice time. Let him play some more in the A. He’s young enough.
First call ups:
Forwards:
I’ve really like Zach Dean’s game this preseason. I think you could look at him as a potential call up this year.
Alexandrov had his moments last year. He still needs to develop a bit more to be a regular in the nhl. I think the problem is when he gets called up, he’s played as a 4th liner but his game is more suited for at least middle six.
Mac. ‘Nough said. He me made his mark last time he was here. A solid 4th liner. Guy you could put in the press box and not worry about as well. Won’t hurt his development not playing.
Defense:
Tucker. As stated above, I like the dude. To make numbers work, he’s the odd man out.
Call me crazy, but I think Mr Hunter Skinner has actually looked decent this preseason. I liked him against Chicago. Could be the person to take over Bortuzzo’s role in the future.
Goalies:
I think Zherenko is the blues best goalie not in the nhl. That being said, it’s Subban who gets the first call up to play backup since you want Zherenko playing.
Only changes for me are:
-make Scotty P, a starting D-man
-F2: I’d experiment with Vrana on LW
-F3: I’d experiment with Kevin Hayes at center. Varna – Hayes – Blais: seems like a solid line
Unless I’m missing something, Hayes is still a center and Blais isn’t, so those two should be swapped.
I saw a Parayko and Perunovich paring a few games ago which seems interesting, two guys who can really skate. Either way, I don’t see any way that Perunovich languishes as the 7th defenseman. He’s way too good for that, and he really needs to play this year.
I did not know we had a Subban on the team.
