On a more depressing note, we really arent’ much offensively without Hughes…
These refs are assholes. In a meaningless pre-season game only give the home team 1 Powerplay and isn’t even a full one. At the end of the game, they hand out a phantom penalty to ruin a potential tying goal.
This team is the opposite of exciting
didn’t catch the whole game but hronek looked great other than the one turnover, he’s gonna be huge for us this year. Thought mcward looked pretty bad this game, I’d guess wolanin makes the team instead even though he’s a lefty
What a way for the refs to ruin the end of a preseason game for the Abbotsford fans
Meaningless pre-season game and the refs take the face off out of zone for seemingly no reason and then give a penalty when prompted about why. I’d be not happy if I was a fan at that game and the chance to see a potential late tying goal got robbed by a refs ego
Have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot of these 2-1 games this season

I liked Beauvillier tonight from what I saw, wasn’t focused on the game the whole way. Also Suter. Casey DeSmith will be a great backup for us this year.
All this talk about McWard and Wolanin, but am I crazy to think Brisebois should get a real look for that 6th spot? God knows he’s earned it, and the man just knows how to defend. Has he made any truly egregious mistakes this preseason?
A solid, low minute, low event d-man is all we need there. Someone who plays 14 minutes a night, can kill a penalty, and keeps the puck out of the net. McWard just isn’t ready to be Hughes’ partner and Wolanin isn’t suited to be Myers’ defensive conscious.
That game was like watching paint try, my god that was brutal.
I’ll say the ice looked to be in super rough shape this evening. Both teams having trouble taking/making passes, people falling all over the place, wide open nets being missed constantly. Feels like it’s hard to judge the game itself when something like that happens
Was it me or was Desmith super scrambly? I felt like he was always trying to recover a position. Not sure if the ice was crap or if he was struggling.
I stopped watching when they started to forget how to skate late first lol.
Low scoring game. If we don’t have Hughes or Petey in the lineup, who else can drive the offense?
McWard’s outperformed relative to expectations, but he’s just not ready to start an NHL regular season on the first pair. The fact that we’re even having that conversation is crazy.
I’m really puzzled as to why this team went out and signed two LHD if Tocchet knew he wanted to start with strong-side pairs the whole time.
That was embarrassing. I think some beer leaguers could have out performed some players tonight.
