Me and my older brother were listening to this game on a NY radio station because ch.38 was all snowy for us that night, and for many nights, for us in CT. We had basically stopped listening when the game ended but was just waiting for closing comments when the announcers starting talking about O’relliy and McNab going into the seats. We were laughing our asses off as it escalated and kept referring to that game as early Christmas present.

I, too, lived in CT and had a snowy night on Channel 38 / WSBK-TV but it cleared-up for the 3rd period.
This was awesome — **close to the last of Old Time Hockey**.
Me and my best friend were supposed to be there but had given-up going to MSG due to the cretons in the stands. Our final MSG game saw a guy 2 rows down pull out his brass knuckles and pound on a Montreal fan. We’d already had our own events with MSG drunks and this was it for us.
Anyway — this « donnybrook » as Derek Sanderson called it, resulted in a funny TV ad which showed O’Reilly, McNab & Milbury arm-in-arm with the text: « **TV-38 All Fun & Games** »
