Rick Bowness advised that Heinola suffered a fractured ankle in the game and that the expectation is anywhere from 8-12 weeks for recovery.
He said they’ll send him back home to Finland where he’ll be with family as he recovers.

Poor kid can’t catch the right kind of break, hoping his recovery is good and we can see him in the lineup in 2024

Tough. He was looking good this pre-season, hopefully he comes back stronger from this. Maybe this saves someone like Chisholm from being exposed to waivers.

Kid deserves a standing O when/if he comes back.

Really good move to send him home. His mental health will need attending to, not just his ankle, and being with family and friends is a huge deal.
I think he will return better than ever.

I hope he tries to stay positive. I still feel like he can get into the lineup this season. I’m wishing him all the very best in his recovery.
