You really need Shea Weber as a guest on Wednesday😊😊
Always nice to listen to the latest update. Greetings from the Netherlands, go Sprong 🙂
Lalonde clearly has some kind of chemistry problem with JB who CLEARLY deserves a spot in, at least, the mid 6. I'm starting to suspect he is confusing the lack of confidence in English with lack of confidence on the ice. Not sure if you guys know, but Jonny B won player of the year in the IIHF World Cup as voted by HockeySverige's (HockeySweden) readers. He won Big and won Over Lucas Raymond among many others. The whole of Sweden sees what he contributes. How is Lalonde so blind?
“Trust the Yzerplan” lol
Here's an interesting question for you guys. Seeing as how the Yzerman philosophy has been you always wanna take that next step forward with the team as a whole because of how Yzerman cut bait and sold alot pieces at the deadline last year when momentum was on the up and up. Would it have been acceptable to bring up more rookies at the cost of regressing even more than last year just to develop our prospects? Can you imagine how rabid the fan base would get because of it. We have some good young talent but what is the price you're willing to pay to bring up talent because it won't be an overnight success and it won't always be pretty. Especially since fans are grabbing their torches demanding playoffs or bust. Detroit is in a weird spot with FAs but I said it since the signings started Yzerman will be moving those cheap/1 year/low risk contracts so he can graduate the next few players. I wholeheartedly believe the hope is that the wings do better and maintain the push toward the deadline; Yzerman will move the contracts to get a high end talent or draft capital; then bring up the kids with the hope they maintain the momentum of the rest of the season to be competitive to the end. Yzerman has already shown he's not afraid to bring up Berggren and Soderblom early. Obviously our forwards and defense are two different stories but I still think it's the same concept/philosophy. Lmk what you think.
My only complaint is that they signed too many d=men. No matter how many times i brought this up, everyone said either Simon wasnt going to be healthy or that if Simon kicks down the door, he would get a spot. Im sorry, he deserves the spot. When r we going to let Simon grow into the roll? Steve couldnt, because he had 7 d-men signed, all with high doller contracts besides Petry and Maata. I could argue that u could waive either or both Chairot and Holl. We are full of d propsects even if there are injuries. It can also be argued that we wont be fighting for a playoff spot. If thats the case, why arent we playing our prospects? I do think its possible we do make a playoff push, i still think Simon should be on the starting roster.
Until things change I won’t believe they will.
1. Toronto – another great regular season and another Toronto postseason.
2. Boston – still a great team. They will have less points, but not a big loss that would cause them to miss the playoffs.
3. Tampa Bay – the Vasilevskiy injury is going to hurt, but I think they can survive until he returns.
4. Florida (Wild Card)- No Ekblad and Montour to start the season is worrying, but there is still enough talent to survive until they are ready to play.
5. Buffalo – I do not like their goaltending. I find it perplexing that they would trust 3 goalies with a combined 100 games of NHL experience to backstop them while they trying to end a 12 year playoff drought. Their forwards need to be better defensively.
6. (Tie, wins RW or ROW tiebreaker) Detroit – Still need more needle movers, but they have improved their depth and goaltending. They should be tougher to play against. (Don’t forget 28-21-8 before a 7-16-2 collapse and selling at the deadline.)
6. (Tie, loses RW or ROW tiebreaker) Ottawa – When will Shane Pinto sign a contract? Will Josh Norris ever get healthy? Will Jakob Chychrun play a full season? How much better is their goaltending? Most important; can they get off to a good start (November!)? So many questions, so few answers.
8. Montreal – not a bottom 5 team, but not out of the bottom 8 yet.
You are so right about seeing the game live in TV/PC. Bought an NHL season ticket for 100$ for seeing Mo and the Red Wings live. 90 % of the Detroit games that I could see due to the diffferent time zone in Germany where blacked out, because Sky was showing either Detroit or the Sens. I really forgot, why I canceled my season ticket a few years ago. I would really looking forward to a solution, where I could see all Red Wings games and not hoping, that Sky doens't show the game in TV.
i dont think there is enough star players to build more competitive NHL cores, you could argue there isn't enough star players to fill out 32 teams.
im still looking at buffalo forward group, can they be consistent enough?
Would laugh if you guys got one of those cardboard cutouts of Evan’s upper torso to put in his chair next time he is on an extended absence. 😂😅
