[Alter] Max Domi a demandé s’il prendrait le n°28 avec Sam Lafferty absent de l’équipe. « Non. C’est le numéro de mon vieux.

    damn right…he’s his own person.

  2. SynthRysing

I mean it’s fair, he IS a Domi, but he isn’t Tie.

Good on you Max. Don’t chase this stupid dream that’s not possible like Clarkson man

Max being Max is more than enough

I was secretly hoping he’d atleast wear 28 for his Leafs debut. I feel the place would erupt

    Toronto reporters are embarrassing.

Like they grilled him about this during his introductory press conference. He already made it clear he is doing his own thing and paving his own path.

No wonder guys like ROR don’t want to stick around and be asked stupid, asinine questions all the time.

I wonder if he will fight a fan in the penalty box?

As a fan I would selfishly love to see a Domi wearing 28 again but I fully support Max having his own identity. If anything I’d probably prefer to see him rock the #13 if it weren’t retired.

Imagine growing up being Tie Domi’s kid?

As cool as that is, I could see you wanting to have your own image after hearing it and having everyone talk to you about it for 30 years.

I feel like I would want to do the same thing if I was in his skates.

Genuinely surprising that some people would have expected Max to take his dad’s number.

No one wants to live in the shadow of their old man, especially pro athletes. People want to be remembered for their own feats not that they are some old dude’s son.

While I think it’s best for him to go his own way and keep to his own identity with the team… I still desperately want him to break out the stick ride goal celly at least once this season.

He should come out for warm-ups in 28 just to acknowledge this Domi 28 thing and give his Dad a shout out so to speak. Give the fans something to cheer about. I’m sure the building would erupt seeing that.

Then give him an on ice interview so he can make it clear it’s only to pay homage. Hell he could wear one if his dad’s old jerseys so people would see it’s not the same logo and style or something.

Start of the game though be the number he wants to be and put the whole thing to bed. Although that would open the door to more media questions on the matter I suppose.

That would be a beauty way to kick off a season. I’m sure the building would be electric.

He should take 82, he’s a Domi, but to the Max!

  13. Good. So many people were horny for him to wear 28. Let him do his own thing. Plus it saves us from a bunch of older guys trying to squeeze into their Domi jersey from 20+ years ago.

  14. He chose #11 to honour Leafs legend Oli Jokinen

  15. spaceporter

I’d buy his jersey today if he did. Not sure if the player gets a cut of that, but it would likely make the total compensation pretty good.

family connection aside, I think “11” is a better looking hockey number than “28” anyway.

ofc I base that off nothing but my own “which number would I rather wear” game that I play when I’m supposed to be working lol.

  17. CMDRShepardN7

Guys, we have to stop getting him to wear Tie Domi’s old number. He’s not Tie Domi. Not even playing the same role.

    He’s the next Zach Hyman.

  18. CanadianCaveman

and if he did put on the 28, he would have to go for the 333 too hahaha

  19. He’s nothing like his Dad on the ice so wearing the same number would be silly unless he was doing it on his own.
