Some good points from Faber. A few of the key things he touched on:
* Podkolzin could come up in Feb/March if he impresses in the AHL. Otherwise, keep him in the AHL where there’s plenty of ice time.
* In a best case scenario, Willander could get a look on the Canucks in April like Quinn back in 2019, and Lekkerimaki could get a look next year at camp. Otherwise, they likely won’t start 24-25 with Vancouver.
* Garland probably won’t be dealt in the next few weeks unless they get a NHL defenseman back, which is unlikely.
* Canucks could boost the defense at the trade deadline, and names Forbort, Schultz, and Gostisbehere as potential targets. At the same time, it’s acknowledged that it is way too early.

I would actually like Lekkerimaki and D Petey to play in the AHL for next season. It would be great to let him have a feel of NA hockey and let him smoothly transition. Maybe even call him up occasionally when someone gets injured. From what I’ve heard he plays a similar style to Boeser and Boeser (knock on wood) does have an injury history.

Pod was rushed once already, let him develop in big minutes on the farm. Lekkerimaki and Willander should develop for next season as well, to add strength and confidence while focusing on improving physical compete levels. These guys are too important to rush their development.
