Myers was the standout, but holy shit Kuzy and many other guys on this team have been dog shit. Deadass invisible out there

  2. Holyshitmuffin

We have the wrong players playing the forechecking roll, beauv garland suter stud these are not forecheckers they are snipers

  3. Idk man we need Petey to play better offensively. Last two games there’s just nothing from him or his line. Garland isn’t working out there.

  4. helixflush

Edmonton getting roasted by Philly too, so that’s nice.

  5. ThisIsFineImFine89

Myers single-handedly cost us that game.

Not to say others were perfect, but surely at this point you sit the player that costs you two goals with incredulous decision making, right?

  6. nite_awol

the only ones who showed up were Miller, Boeser, Quinn and Demmer.

fuck the rest and a special fuck off to Myers.

  7. Almost_Capable

Really glad Miller scored that late goal. He was one of the few who’s game I liked tonight.

  8. The reason that we are losing our collective minds is what Tocchet said, these guys haven’t earned any bad games. If this team was comfortably in a playoff spot and laid an egg, it’s way easier to roll with the punches. For all the talk of structure and accountability, this feels a lot like the inconsistent teams that got Green and Bruce fired.

  9. Captain_JT_Miller

Miller, Hughes, Hronek, Demko showed up tonight. That is all.

Oh ya fuck Myers, the guy is an absolute nightmare. Tyler Myers on the ice was like a giraffe that had wandered out of the savannah and onto a frozen pond. Every move he made seemed awkward and out of place. His long limbs, which should have given him a reach advantage, seemed more like they were getting in the way. Opposing players didn’t fear his size; instead, they seemed to exploit it, zipping around him like cheetahs circling their prey. The puck, instead of being his ally, acted as if it were a startled bird trying its best to escape his lumbering presence. Each time he tried to make a play, it was like watching that same giraffe trying to pick up a marble with its hooves – clumsy and often ineffective.

His teammates tried to be supportive, but it was hard to ignore the glaring issues. During team drills, while others glided effortlessly, Myers moved like a giraffe on roller skates, stumbling and struggling to keep up with the pack. Off the ice, he was a gentle giant, but when it came to the game, his performance was more reminiscent of a safari mishap than a professional athlete. The team’s fans, once hopeful for the tall player’s potential, soon realized that having the grace of a giraffe wasn’t necessarily a good thing in hockey.

  10. Sorry but there was clearly something up with Pettersson this and last game plus Kuz struggling every game is bringing that entire line down. Garland has his bad moments but he was also creating chances and playing well defensively. I don’t know what going on with Kuzmenko but he is having a rough start and I’m wondering if it’s due to not fitting Tocchets system.

Miller is elite and by far the best forward tonight. Myers might have scored but he was horrendous defensively and I will also add Ian Cole and Soucy looked bad too. The bottom 6 really needs Bleuger back they look awful though I thought Högz had a good third period. Anyway I’m not impressed with any of the acquisitions so far except Bleuger and he is out from injury. I know it’s extremely early to judge but idk the team is disappointing again.

Who’s got the clip of Myers hitting Pete

  12. Myers and Cole by FAR a worse pairing than Myers and OEL.

  13. Same team, same gutless approach. Petey is the issue…..*sharpens pitchfork*

  14. julesieee

LOL the switch to the Oilers-Flyers game 😂

    4-1… Oilers cup contenders? Really?

  15. Badawaii

Still happy with .500 after the first four games all things considered, but obviously the past 3 games haven’t been ideal

Good thing the season is long. Hope they finally find some consistency as we move forward, gotta have 60 minute games or it’ll end up costing us again

  16. xStickyBudz

Tyler Myers is a god damn tire fire, sick of watching this plug single handedly ruin games for us

  17. Quietly strong game from Petey but he looks off, imagine some things are bugging him right now.

  18. CCCP-Victory-1981

This team needs a sparkplug. Someone like Marty Gelinas, Matt Cooke, or Alex Burrows. Someone who shows up every night and takes it to the opposition. We don’t have that kind of feisty player right now. The team seems to lack energy and inspiration.

  19. _Canuckle

It’s impressive how Myers can score and still everyone here is shitting on him… and it’s entirely warranted

  20. VicTheSpicc

I missed the game boys, was it at least an honorable loss or did we fuck this one up??

  21. I truly think Myers’ continuous bad plays are deflating the team. Every time we get something going he makes a bad play and things start to fall apart. Sure, we do need to get better mentally but playing with an unpredictable defenseman who keeps making costly mistakes must really gut punch our already fragile team.

  22. cbcguy84

I absolutely cannot stand Myers anymore, He HAS to go!!!

  23. not making excuses, but after giving 130% to gut out a win vs the Oilers and then travelling as far as they have, i’m not surprised their game has been off for a couple.

I expect a better effort vs the Panthers, and I don’t expect that we will see this team put together any kind of win streak until November-ish, there are too many new players and new systems, and every team in the league is fresh and uninjured

  24. DepressionMakesJerks

If canucks played like they did in the last 2 minutes you would think they are a top 15 team at least 🤷🏻‍♂️

  25. HogwartsXpress36

    Same shit different year.

Haven’t played 60 minute hockey games 2 to 4 now. Classic for these guys. Obviously buy into their own hype.

  26. Substantial_Base_557

To put this on one player is a joke. These last 3 games we have looked like absolute dog shit.

Edit. Aside from our Tendys and Elias

  27. nite_awol

emergency call up call up Hunter Brzustewicz.

  28. stronklikebear

Looking for positives, I thought Hogs was showing a lot of energy tonight, really drove play for his line a lot. If nothing else, he looked like he was there to play.

  29. SuddenlyChineseFood

The post game grilling is the most entertaining part of game nights now

  30. smcfarlane

Point in Florida, win in NSH and its a successful trip.

  31. SnooConfections8768

I actually noticed Beauvillier for a minute or so.

Does Kuzmenko still play for the Canucks? Haven’t seen him.

I didn’t see any creativity whatsoever.

Tocchet needs to sit guys that aren’t winning battles and making mistakes. They can’t just clear their zone and hand over the puck for the Lightning to come back at them in attack mode. Stop panicking with the puck.

  32. nite_awol

someone needs to remind Myers we’re only 4 games in. his tank game doesn’t have to be on point yet.

  33. electricnux

Oilers and Buffalo having a really bad start, Devils getting bag skated after 2 games, Leafs acquisitions being horrible, Kraken can’t score goals

At least we’re not the only ones complaining about team effort lol

  34. barelyincollege

I get that the players aren’t performing, but at what point is this on management and the coaching staff?

They made all sorts of moves on their insistence that they wanted to bring in more structure, and it feels like we just went back to Travis Green hockey, right down to an over-reliance on Demko bailing the team out every night.

  35. Broad_Nebula_9736

Yeah, idk about Tocchet. It’s his first full training camp with the team and we’ve looked stale, even with a better roster. We’ve been outshot and outworked. First game was great, but the last three have been horrid. Even though we won the 2nd game against the Oilers, we were getting dominated in possession.

Tocchet has an old-school, defensively oriented style of coaching. I really don’t think that style gels with our team when we have guys like Petey, Hughes and Kuzmenko that thrive from their creativity.

Really wish we rode it out with Boudreau to see what he could’ve done with a better roster. Even though he started last season horridly, his record with the team was still 50 – 40 – 13 at the time he was fired, over .500.

I guess we’ll see what happens as the season progresses, but I’m really worried about the Canucks’ ability to generate offense. Not only is it going to lose us games, but it’s going to be boring as fuck to watch as well.

  36. CamaroGirl96

For anyone who didn’t see Tocchets presser after the game, a reporter asked about Myers. Tocc basically just shrugged and said “he needs to bounce back next game”
    Clearly no repercussions for Myers.

  37. ThrustNeckpunch33

    We have our past.

I have been a DIE hard fan since i was 8 years old, in 1990. I know the past. I know the luck we have.

But honestly, I am not worried. For once.

I dont mean winning a cup, I mean for once I think something can be better.

It’s the first 4 games and are 2-2. Not great, not terrible. We still have scored 15 goals in 4 games having been outshot, and SHUTOUT in one of those games.

Barely squeeking out wins isnt going to get us into the playoffs, but i think they deserve some credit and some leeway to figure it out.

I’m usually pessimistic, but for some reason this time i am not. Only time will tell.

    I still believe!!! Haha

    Peace

  38. travworld

Well, they’ve basically shown us 4 things in 4 games.

A great effort blowout, a bad effort win, a bad effort loss, and a good effort loss.

There were positives tonight, for sure. And negatives. We all knew this first big road trip was going to be against tough teams.

  39. Holyshitmuffin

Excited to see the a jersey tossed lmao

  40. metrichustle

Kuzmenko experiencing the sophomore slump so far. Doesn’t seem to create offense on his own. This is going to be an issue if he doesn’t figure it out on the road trip. We need him to be a 35+ goal threat to be competitive. On the bright side, Boeser looks like he is reinventing himself.

  41. itspronouncedcady

Guys, I have to admit something. I missed the past two games, so I think this one is on me. I’m back in to watch on Saturday so I’m sure we can turn this back into an 80-0-2 season. 🙏🏻
