That late in the game with almost no chance to tie it up….plus he jumped….they should be thankful it’s only 4 games.

Does Rasmus have a history of suspensions? 4 games seems pretty excessive considering DOPS usually goes by player history. What’s the cut off time when players shouldn’t throw hits?

I think the hit was absolutely suspension worthy, but I think 4 games is out of line with dops precedent. There’s a lot of talk about it being late in the game and as such unnecessary, but if it’s so unnecessary then why is Laine trying to score on EN? I think both guys are playing until the final whistle (which is how Raz plays, no comment on Laine). Is it an illegal dangerous hit? Yea. Should he have not hit him? Hard to say, maybe he thought Laine was going to carry the puck (not unreasonable considering how far he was from the flames net), maybe he mistimed it or let frustration boil over. I certainly wouldn’t want him taking a low effort swat at the puck there.

The suspension should reflect other plays of this nature and Anderssons history. Should be 2 games. I expect them to reduce it to 3.

  4. 4 is a lot for first offence. Reduce it to 2 or 3.

Good but appeals in the NHL take forever.

Andersson missing the outdoor game would be pretty dumb.

4 games is absurd. 2 is the precedent. Make it 3 if you’re trying to send a message. But 4 AND missing the outdoor games is too much
