I really wish ownership would let the team properly rebuild. I know this isn’t a new or particularly unique opinion, but being stuck in perpetual mediocrity and boringness kills me.

Myself and 2 friends flew into Calgary from Montreal yesterday for the game last night, was extremely disappointing to see how they played…then straight back to the airport after the game for the flight back home.. was a loooong night

It’s fucking embarrassing that we are 8 games into Backlunds captaincy and people are already saying the team got that wrong. Just so many fuck ups by this organization since 2022.
In our never ending quest to remain *just good enough* to threaten for the playoffs while not sucking bad enough to crater attendance and season ticket sales, I’m afraid we might have screwed up bad enough to find ourselves near the bottom of the standings.
And if they keep playing like they did last night, how many are going to keep watching them? There’s just nothing to latch on to, except maybe watching Markstrom forced to make yet another spectacular save because everyone in front of him shit the bed so hard they’ve given up yet another high danger chance. The rest of the team? It’s like most of them don’t even give a crap. So why should I spend my time watching them half-ass it around the ice?
Hope springs eternal and maybe they find some chemistry and turn things around, but geez it ain’t looking good.
I would like to hear from Conroy and CSEC right now. I’m pretty sure atleast Conny knows deep down that this team is not a good one, but Bean and Edwards need a good hard shake up. We need a full blown presser where the whole office is on the hot seat. What is the plan going forward, how much leash is this specific group going to get before something happens? Fuck I’m at a point where I’m more excited to cheer against certain teams than cheering for the Flames
Yes we have an absolutely horrendous team game right now, and yes UBERdough and Lazyem Kadri are doing fuck all but there could not be a better time for all of this to happen.
Imagine having a decent team the majority of the season only to see what we truly are come Spring, which is exactly what we’ve seen for the last decade plus with this fucking cursed franchise.
This terrible start SHOULD put the breaks on all extension talks and hopefully Conroy (and Iggy) will get permission to do what absolutely needs to be done so we have a good up and coming young team when the new arena is ready.
I for one am hoping they continue to fall flat on their fucking face, it’s the only way we will get the change we so desperately need and deserve. The lazy, shitty, overpaid fucks on this team will get embarrassed in the media and driven out of town eventually and even if we have to retain salary we will at least be able to watch (and draft) exciting young prospects.

Huska’s post game presser was unfortunately familiar. He doesn’t have the room. Blaming his team for not working hard enough is his only reasoning behind last nights loss. Saying they deserve the boos before correcting himself to “we deserve the boos”. That mistake is bigger than most people are giving credit. I hate Huska. And his hockey is fucking boring.
Heritage classic will be the TSN turning point. Flames win, they go on a run and the boys sneak into the playoffs.
On the bright side, at least we aren’t destroying the career of a generational talent!
