Cole Fucking Caufield
Our best players were our best players. Point final.
Slaf had an off night but overall I’m happy (or at least cool with) with his season so far. He has a finishing instinct but it’s just slow, I’d like to see his decision making get more confident and quick over time.
We drafted KK as a similar long term project, look what happened when we were impatient there.

Currently 7th in the NHL, 4th in the Atlantic. What a bonkers division we’re in.
Imma start the Barron bandwagon, outside of the Devils game he’s been really solid. He’s still in his Bambi phase but there are a lot of really good tools there.

I don’t believe that the 2nd line was the worst. It was their best game together, they had most of the chances tonight. If Anderson could finish, they probably finish with 2-3 points each.
I’m sure the mental gymnastics will continue being happy with the bare minimum with Slaf. Guy doesn’t look remotely like a 1st overall player.
They have to find new linemates for Slaf, or send him to the AHL, because Newhook and Anderson are good with him.
Kovacevic deserves more love than that. He’s been doing great this year and I think he did pretty good tonight too.
Matheson playing like Petry did when he swathed OT goals a couple years back. He’ll be exhausted as hell by Christmas tho carrying our defence’s offensive output like that.
