Completely disagree with Jesse here. Why does it have to be 50/50? Why over think it? We took samsonov to arb and signed him for 1 year for a reason. he’s an up and down goalie who I personally don’t feel comfortable as a starter when it matters given his style of play. Woll has been drafted, developed, and worked his ass off in the minors to get this opportunity and nothing tells me he hasn’t earned it. It’s almost as if we can’t fathom as leaf fans that we’ve developed a good goalie for once
I have said it before, Samsonov may win you games, but Woll will win you playoff series. Woll reminds me of Carey Price at his height.
We need both goalies to play there best but head to head Woll is goalie 1.

It wouldn’t shock me if Woll is the starter and Jones is the backup by the end of the season. Sammy is injury prone and does not want to be in Toronto.
My 2 cents. I think it’s good for Sammy to have the competition with Woll. The best needs to be the starter and it will make them both better.
