“Obscenely skilled team that hasn’t worked hard in two years excelling now that they work hard”

I’m glad to have been so wrong on Lavy.

Amazing how all they needed was a little structure

Love what I’m seeing, but it’s early, and we haven’t really played anybody yet.

  5. Seems like Laviolette had a plan coming in and is sticking to it. Small sample size but seems to be working. At least all indications are positive.

Refreshing change from the always happy go lucky, no system, barely gets to know his team approach from GG.

Last coach I remember putting an emphasis on practice was Torts.

I like that he’s going hard on the practices early in the year as it gets tougher to do this down the stretch.

Rangers are fortunate to not have a big crunch of games until the end of November and not have a back to back until then either. Best to get everyone well drilled now.

Mollie Walker is better than Vince in the writing department, I can now confidently say. She has taken over the beat from Brooksie it looks like, who is probably eyeing a comfortable retirement similar to Carpiniello.

Everything from her writing style to her access and information is top tier. Vince is good but the post has always had special access to the NYR. The difference between lohud and the Post clearly being seen in this article and others before it.

All in all, M.Walker is in another tier of journalism after stealing the reigns from Larry Brooks.

The king has died, long live the queen.

This is like when someone in accounting gets fired and the replacement, or people filling in, need to carry on the duties for a while and they find out that “holy sh*t, there really wasn’t anything that was getting done”.

You should be busting your ass off during practice. Then games are easier.

One thing I find funny is what Lav is doing is almost 100% unanimous compared to what most people on the Rangers sub has been saying for years. It makes me think that head coaches seem to have egos and constantly try to reinvent the wheel. That being said, I have a strong feeling if you allowed each teams sub to vote on line combinations for the respected teams, you’d see an increase in wins and overall play across the board. I’m fully aware that’s not the only aspect of coaching but I think most diehard fans with a decent understanding of the game can construct better rosters than what’s being deployed.

I can’t believe there was that report Gallant wasn’t having them practice 3 on 3s it’s literally worth a point
