What defenseman has stood out as the best so far this season in your mind?
Hoping the new defense pairings workout for the next game. I like separating Carlson and Sandin, and placing them with other players. Putting them Carlson with Fehervary and Sandin with TvR should in theory work. The third pairing appears to be a little shaky to me with Jensen (at this moment has not found his game this season), and Alexeyev (new guy in the NHL). It might be better to put Carlson with Alexeyev and Sandin with Jensen. Put TvR and Fehervary together for the third pairing. It would be good experience for Alexeyev to play with Carlson.

I commented on that first night – less audience, most people including myself said is it’s too freakin expensive, or I’d go to every single game no matter the lines bc I love hockey!
As I diehard Caps Fan I want to like you but I can’t agree with a lot of opinions and stances. We are just prolonging the inevitable… this team is not competitive/ winning a cup again. Breaks my heart to lose our core players that I absolutely love but it’s time to just rip the band off and start a rebuild! A rebuild takes yearsss to complete so let’s just start sooner than later….
Rebuilds sound really great on social media but in reality they can last 5-10years.
The real problem with rebuilding IMO is that it's all about timing. You need to tear it down just as a deep draft comes around the corner and preferably also in a year where you don't have to contend with another team aspiring to do the same thing.
Celebrini, Eiserman and Demidov look great, but the 2024 draft leaves much to be desired beyond them. Were we to tear it down now and still miss out on the top 5, which is a real possibility, then we would essentially be left with a number of draftees who would be huge question marks at best.
As a Caps fan and an Ovi fan, I hate this. But if they REALLY want to do a full rebuild, then trade Ovi. The Caps are in kind of a netherland. I would like to see them turn it around this season. And I think there is still some time. But they have to show something at some point.
