Out playing the Preds, but still losing to Saros is not that uncommon of a thing. More teams will do that this year.

sucks to get goalied, but ya dont hear us saying we got goalied when Woll is in net… that is bc you get goalied when they got saves and you didnt… that first goal was so bad and the ot winner wasnt very good either
There is no way a goal should be scored from the top of the circles with no screen from a wristshot on any NHL goalie. Sammy wasn't even in the middle of the net. The whole blocker side was opened with space for a beachball. Samsonov should be put on waivers and hopefully some desperate team (Oilers) will take this guy away. He still ended the night with a .875 SV%. That's not NHL starter or even backup numbers.
Sammy did not make some big stops in OT. Nashville had exactly 1 shot.

Think the Leafs 🍁🍁🍁played a "Swedish" game tonight 🤮! Kicked the Preds in almost every Stat but if you don't play dirty like a "Canadian" game (hit here, clobbered there, stick up there, fight-fight)

Sport Logiq website has the Leafs at 3.36 expected goals to Nashville 1.80 at all strengths, and meanwhile over at Moneypuck they have the Leafs at 2.45 to Nashvilles 2.47 in all situations……My eye test agrees with Sport Logiq
I think the logic of David Kampf taking the initial draw in overtime goes like this…..He wins and the Leafs pass it back and give him a moment to swap with Auston. He loses and we don’t have to waste an Auston Matthews shift defending. It’s very easy to make line changes and play keep away when you have the puck much easier than on 5v5. So there’s not much downside to the strategy, atleast in theory.
