Beating a dead horse here but the medical team should not be letting guys that take head hits back in to games to get hit again.
This was predictable. Even if nico said I’m good to play. U have to protect the player from himself and do what’s best for him and the organization. I have no doubt nico will be fine but repeated head hits are super dangerous. Especially when they are taken in a short timeframe.

  2. That’s fine. It’s clear its not a concussion or anything but why risk anything else?

    « Day-to-day »

Not going on a road trip that ends two weeks after the first day he was « day-to-day. »

If you haven’t learned by now, just ignore anything NHL teams tell you about injuries. When you see him in a game, you’ll know he’s fine. Until then it’s all just a pack of lies.

Why don’t they just put him on the injured list? Makes no sense at this point if he’s out 2 weeks minimum.

Ok let’s face it, Nico got a concussion. He got hit high and was flexing and touching his jaw on the bench. He got his bell rung again. We need a DOG on this team to start punishing opposing teams for this bullshit.

I’m not happy with this. But then again it’s not my head that got bounced off the boards like a tennis ball. Heal up, Nico. Your boys will step up.

  7. Never understood why a player that directly caused the injury can return before the injured player.

Should be the same time frame, without pay plus a fine.

Is that witchcraft ritual still an option?

Bummer. He’s had his best seasons when healthy. Hope he comes back strong.

  10. How do we even know it was the head hit? Didn’t he hurt his shoulder the game before?

  11. Kornja81

And they still let him play for another shift/2nd period…. remember when Hughes took a knee to knee and they let him skate another shift towards the end of the season like 2 years ago? This medical stuff is awful.

Just saw someone fall to his knees at Wawa

Nico about to be day-to-day for 3 months

Time to trade for Ryan Reaves. Holtz for Reaves sounds about right.

And yes, I’m just kidding here. We all know it’s Luke for Revo.

This sucks, but hopefully the team steps up and uses this as a chance to develop with his absence. Overcoming adversity is important.

  16. Its MikeyMc time. Dont be surprised to see him take this oppurtunity and really take off. 4 game point streak incoming.

I think players who receive match penalties on plays that result in injury should be suspended until the injured player returns.

  18. Clifton should have gotten way more games. It’s bad for the game to not drop the hammer on guys like this. If not – why not send a goon out to hurt Hughes?

Are you telling me the Rangers wouldn’t make out ok losing Trouba 2 games if it means he knocks Hughes out for weeks?
