The fact that this Western Canada trip comes so early in the season is a big plus down the road. They still have the California and Colorado/Arizona trips ahead of them, but they have a favorable travel schedule and many home games down the stretch so hopefully they can put the unmitigated disaster of last year's playoff flameout behind them and make another deep run this spring.

As a Rangers fan since 1979, I can say the following with absolute certainty and factual proof to support my statement. So long as Glen Sather has a key to the building and has a say in terms of Player trades, drafting, personnel and development, sadly, we will never win a Stanley Cup. And even with Drury as the general manager, nothing is finalized without Sather’s blessing. in his nearly quarter century in New York has accomplished exactly one finals appearance. One.
I’ve loved the start this team has gotten off to, but it will not be enough in the end. You can’t have mediocrity at the top and expect to have champions in the middle.
