Just read in Friedman’s column that the Flames were gonna pay Hanifin more than Devon Teows before Noah broke off talks, Lindholm is still asking for more than they’ll pay and they aren’t close with Tanev. Bonus scoop that the flames were thinking of shaking up the room by waiving a veteran player. Spicy stuff.
Zary’s debut rocked. Love that kind of Mojo from a youngster, and made me believe how fun it will be in the coming years to get some high draft picks and watch them develop – anything is better than the last 8 games.
Sucks to lose, but if the Flames play like they did in the first and third periods for the rest of the season, they’ll start to get some wins. Zary was a monster, and with Ruzicka and Dube coming back soon (hopefully) we should look faster as a team. If Huberdeau has another shit game he needs the press box treatment for a game or two. Time for Huska to start holding players accountable if they don’t show up to play.
Having guys like Zary, Coronato, Pelletier, and Duehr make excited to watch our current team. And once guys like Wolf, Poirier and Honzek make the jump I think we will have a decent young core. Having a high draft pick this year will definitely help!
We are, points-wise, the second worst team in the NHL as of now. We are already statistically likely to miss the playoffs. Plenty of empty seats in the Dome. Fans booing. Upcoming UFA’s under-performing in their contract year. Surely ownership sees the writing on the wall and sells at/before the deadline. Problem being if we sell the UFA’s and play the kids in their spots we might actually go on a heater and ruin our draft position in the second half of the season lol
I want to see Pelletier and Zary play on this team together so fucking bad
Apparently Edmonton is not relevant anymore, the new rivalry is called the Battle of Cowboys 🤠 Games against Dallas have not disappointed once in years, and Flames play them twice more this month!
