One more Update: This suspension is NOT contingent on Pinto Signing and starts with Game 1 of Sens Season so he can sign and return Jan 21st which would be game #42 vs Flyers. He may also appeal and if lowered could return sooner.

NHLPA says Shane Pinto will not be appealing the 41-game suspension, this was a negotiated resolution between all parties.

Why is gambling more serious than attacking a guy with your skate? Bertuzzi broke a guys neck and was suspended 20 games? You'd think to get 41 games you'd have to take a gun on the ice with you or something
So the league can take in the advertising dollar promoting gambling, but the players can't gamble… As long as you're not gambling on your own games, who gives a sh!@. F!@#ing hypocrites. For fu!@$ sake doesn't his team promote betting on their jerseys or something like that. Get rid of the rule. You shouldn't be able to gamble on the sport you play. Anything else is OK.

Pinto's suspension started game 1 and does not depend on an extension. Trade is still likely unless Ottawa caves and gives up a 1st (from Detroit) or T. Boucher.
Or they trade Pinto outright. Possibly in a bigger move including M. Frost.

What I find interesting is Mike has condemned players for doing wrong doing BEFORE they have been convicted in a court of law or a 17 year old for making a mistake in life. Yet, Pinto has been found guilty by the NHL but NO condemnation of Pinto. I wonder why????
