I need to take a show to wash away that shit of a game.

Blues should make a note to self: hmm scoring on the power play can gain momentum? Maybe we should try that.

This game can be summed up by saying they buried their chances and we didn’t.

They’ve had some concerning losses but this felt more like a loss that just happens over the course of a season. That’s not to say they played a perfect game but it felt like if a few bounces went our way early the game plays out very differently.

  4. Honestly we just need to take our chances. I mean it wasn’t the worst game I’ve ever seen

Not necessarily a *bad* game, but definitely a wonky one.

I think Buch picked up whatever funk Thomas has last year, and Binner had some miscues, but there was certainly not a lack of effort or periods where they played really well.

  6. Trade Krug right fuckin now DA. What the fuck were you thinking

1 power play goal through 11 games. That’s not great.

Damn the Jets are always so hungry against the Blues. They’ve got it cranked up the entire 60 min, seemingly having every inch of ice covered in every matchup against them (not to ignore all the giveaways and terrible passing by the Blues). Idk what motivates them so much against our guys when they’re just mediocre against everyone else but if it has anything to do with that 2019 first round win, I’m still very happy with the tradeoff lol

    Takeaways:

    1. Horrible luck this game yes—but my eyes tell me the Jets are the better team. Structured, sound defensively, elite talent up front that can finish (imagine that).

    2. Kyrou and Buchnevich—it’s time. We’ve been patient, they’ve generated many scoring chances (especially kyrou) but pucks have to go in. They’re too skilled to be snakebitten this long and on a team lacking skill it’s even more crucial to finish these chances.

    3. Special teams are now losing us games. The calls were weak but kill a penalty ffs. And the power play? The ineptitude is mind blowing. I don’t know what the problem is but it feels like the net front presence just isn’t there.

Seemed like we gave up after a few bad breaks. Binner was out of sorts all night. Didn’t have his snap. Not sure why we’re goal phobic right now. It’s encouraging the few flashes of brilliance. Not seeing the hard work or any resilience.

Bad luck, bad special teams, and bad goaltending this game. Other than that the effort has been consistent the past couple games and we look like a much better team now. Keep this effort up and I bet we stay at or above 0.500 this year.

  12. The Blues were buzzing the first 10 minutes and just stopped skating. No sustained O-zone pressure after that and felt like they were chasing the game

I only put one of those goals on Binnington (4th goal).

Krug and Leddy. Please for the love of god I hope they can move these guys
