@Flames de Calgary

  1. I've been watching and analysing Flames closely for these two years.. And what I see in discourse now is a bit of misunderstanding and blind blaming of Huberdeau. The reason why Huberdeau doesn't produce is purely Calgary problem and its system. They gave a monster contract to a player who isn't able to use his strength and playmaking ability, simply saying who isn't fitting the way Calgary plays south-north. Jonathan is used to have layers in offence with D activation. In Calgary he has no support=options for a play. Why he is benched? Cause he as a player is useless in Calgary setup and he feels this frustration. He doesn't belong there if Calgary isn't changing. And in that context, yes, contract is insane.

  2. At around the 3 minute mark on the video, Huberdeau is shown with his head down. Looks like he was sulking. I didn’t watch so I’m not sure. Does anyone know what was happening at that point?

  3. Whys he sulking , 10.5mil a year to sit and watch hockey

  4. With the exception of the Canucks and Jets every other Canadian team is having problems.

  5. He wants to be back in Florida with Barkov

  6. That he needs to be better. Impressive, you guys turned that answer into 7 minutes lol.

  7. I think they have the wrong system for him in Calgary. I saw a great video, about it. Made a lot of sense.

  8. I don't know what happened to Huberdeau, as I didn't really follow him when he was with the Panthers. But he's just not a very good player. Maybe it's an Invasion of the Body Snatchers thing, and he's been replaced with someone else. One full year to acclimate to a new team is already a little ridiculous. Now we're into the second year, and if anything he's even worse than last year. A few years from now this will probably be viewed as the worst contract in the history of the NHL. The Kadri contract will also be in the top 10 worst deals.

  9. Hub’s lack of production has single handedly lead to my fantasy time going for the tank.

  10. Off night lol , he has been off since he went to CGY lol. Why has CGY sucked this year, because they have the worst contract in the NHL and making 3 m a year more then anyone else to do absolutely nothing.Either CGY changes their playstyle or TRY to trade him but no one wil touch that contract so they are screwed.

  11. Hey Calgary, Edmonton will give you Connor Brown, a first, a top prospect, a mid level donkey forward for Huberdeau and you retain 40%. Edmonton will gladly have Huberdeau play on the first line with McDavid. The problem is Calgary has no set up super stars for Huberdeau. Huberdeau will never produce until you get a play making super star on your team. Calgary is a chip and charge, scramble for the garbage goals in the blue paint team after someone snipes it….seemingly built on a defensive system. No one on Calgary has any play making finesse. Huberdeau is not a sniper, Huberdeau is not even close to being a play maker, he's a receiver and finisher. Huberdeau's specific skill set was never a good fit for Calgary's system. He will never work with the way Calgary is built. Too bad your former GM was too dumb to not understand that before he signed Huberdeau. Edmonton has their own set of problems created by the other dummy 240 km north of you. What's worse than 1 dummy GM in Alberta? 2 dummy GMs.

  12. It's no secret Huberdeau hated leaving the sunshine and lifestyle down south, but he was paid handsomely and he doesn't have to live in Calgary year-round. (Living in Calgary isn't exactly a death sentence, it's a beautiful city) In the real world most of us head off to our job not loving it, but we suck it up and do our jobs for scraps compared to this guy. So go ahead and sit on the bench with your head down like a little baby with tears in your eyes, poor Huberdeau. All you had to do was play a game at professional level, if ya can't do that get a job in the oil patch, where you will have to work your ass off. The high paid NHLer's lead rockstar life's off ice, but most give 100% when they are on ice.

  13. Wish Huby would get his head straight and have some heart and soul like Weegar.

  14. Simple, he is a waste of space out there and only hurting the team. He needs to start living up to his 10.5 salary.
