  1. We get lots of shots but they are mostly very 'low danger' chances compared to other teams. Oilers give up so many more rush chances, 2 on 1 breakouts than our opponents that we don't really deserve wins even if we had average or better goaltending.

Like so many fans talk about how Edmonton got 19-2 shots vs canucks but why does that even matter when the 4 shots we give up to the canucks are higher danger than any of the 19 shots we had agains them.

  2. SJ only beat us by a little bit – so might get them next time. It looks like we can still lose 2 games a month and finish close to where finished last year- but BobNicholson is a concern – hires a lot of people well past their prime & out of date. Has done great harm to the City but has taken out millions. Ken Holland judge of skill/value is not good

  3. They used to outscore their mistakes. Now they can't. Everyone says more defenceman, and so will a new coach. I say work to your strengths and offense the max out of these guys. Bring back Barrie too 😅

  4. Dont get me wrong, i hate the oilers always have always will. But they have been fun to watch the last few years. They are not even fun to warch. Its just sad.

  5. History has kind of repeated itself. Chiarelli took over a bad team and they were making good progress before regressing back to a non-playoff team. Holland took over and pretty much the same thing is happening. The big difference is Chiarelli didn't do enough to improve the team and Holland's attempts are blowing up in his face.

  6. Bring in the 6th coach for McDavid? The issues has always been the same, at what point do you have to look at the players and tell them to figure it out. New coach, new GM is t going to change it

  7. What happens when you put a glorified AHL team on an NHL ice ???
Taking a bunch of low percentage shots from the outside will not cut it .. while playing defense like it's beer league hockey.
BTW, for the Oilers to reach 96 points and have a chance at wildcard spot, they will need to play at 65% win percentage the rest of the season. Not going to happen.

  8. No effort and flat footed in their own zone.
Forgot how to shot for corners and 5 holes.
    Loosing board battles.
    Can’t make passes.
    Fail on every metric.
Fail on whole team coaching and Management.

  9. I don't think it's a system problem. These guys are 'professional' hockey players. Implementing a new system is hockey 101. Pretty sure coasting around their own zone and leaving guys wide open isn't part of Woodcroft's system.

  10. The Problem in Edmonton has been 3 fold in recent years. It's their Culture, Philosophy & Approach this is on Daryl Katz for he hasn't seen or demanded change & accountability. AND now unfortunately it is up to ahem the new guy Jeff Jackson. Fire Ken Holland. Fire Dustin Schwartz. Only coach that should be on the hot seat imo Dave Manson. Ken Holland is too laid back, loyal to a fault & imo isn't decisive & can't identify players with the IT Factor he seems to favor one dimensional players who aren't ALL rounded. He's Reactive & not Proactive. He has had 4 seasons to address this teams goaltending & defensive players yet every summer he makes no real upgrades to either. Mr Jackson either promote Keith Gretzky (he should have been given the opportunity 4 years ago THEN imo) or hire Mark Messier (imo best choice NOW) he will demand change & accountability. Either promote Sylvain Rodrigue as GC or contact Dwayne Roloson at Lake Superior State or Mike Smith. Next start trading. Get Eric Comrie for a mid round pick. Trade Skinner,Broberg & (or anyone of these 4 players D Ryan/ Janmark/C Brown or T Tullio) & 1st rnd pick for J Saros. Anything more or different forget it. If you can't get J Saros then look to Montreal & trade for Jake Allen & Josh Anderson for E Bouchard & R McCleod and a lower draft pick if necessary. Next trade Foegle & Ceci & Markus Nieminem for Andrew Peeke & Adam Bogquist & K Johnson. Call Arizona & see what it would take to get Sean Durzi? Call Patrick Kane & get to play here. Do it now and see if they can salvage the season at least build for next year. Holland could have gotten Darcy Kuemper & Matt Dumba in free agency yet chose to pay big contracts to soft players like Ceci, Bouchard, McCleod and let go Klim Kostin & Kailer Yamamoto. Broberg still hasn't made the team. He could have traded for Durzi should have gotten Brett Pesce now has a opportunity for Andrew Peeke & Adam Bogquist yet is happily collecting his checks from Katz knowing that he has already stated he wasn't sure if he might even want to come back at the end of the season. His time is done NOW.😢

  11. This team just doesn't want it. Its plain as day to see. Its unfortunate as I've been waiting over 30 years to see them win again like used too. Oh well loyal to the Oil

  12. Rumour has it Oilers are going for another overall 1st pick. They already have 4 btw. Canucks has never had a 1st overall draft pick. Let that sink in.

  13. First time visitor to your site–I feel your pain.
As a Canucks fan from their inception, having experienced the pain of every shellacking the Oilers gave us, I have to say that every "sigh" in your video was both sad and delicious at the same time.

  14. draisaitl saying the cup or bust was a death sentence. it motivates ever team they play. need to win at a .725 clip to make the playoffs.

  15. Don’t wanna pile on here but to say Skinner gave them the best chance he could is accurate but not for the right reasons. You’re right it was the best he has to offer, but that third goal was embarrassing. Yeah, it’s a two on one because Nurse is also bad, but Skinner moves like a dying elephant. That push across the crease moved him six inches, and then he lunges for the puck at the end, but by “the end” I mean after it’s already in the net. If the Oil don’t get a better goaltender, they’re more toast than they already are.

  16. Hard to believe Oilers are out of the playoffs in Nov yikes. Basically, they need to win 70% of the rest of their games to have a chance.
