Re: Gaudreau: you've heard me say this before on your channel Mike: how often do we see a player bolt for greener pastures only to find their game goes in the tank!!! In this case, though, CBJ is STUCK with Gaudreau's $9+ million/season salary for years to come and if his game continues to flounder (like Huberdeau & Kadri in Calgary) they won't have many options… they'll be burdened with that salary. Like I said before re: Huberdeau & Kadri….it was too soon to write them off as failures last season…. let's give them this year to turn it around….well….it ain't happening. Same with Gaudreau….he should be in synch and running on all cylinders by now…..not so!!!! Should be very interesting to see how this all plays out.
Re: Oilers: it's NOT Woodcroft's fault!!!! Their "D" is suspect and goalies are sieves!!!! They aren't winning anything with that "D" and those goalies.
Re: Sharks: there's NO EXCUSE for letting in 10 goals/game in back-to-back games!!! Pathetic!!!! I could put a frickin peewee team on the ice that would provide better "D" than that Sharks team….awful. Poor goalies….must be pissed!!! I wouldn't want to be the team that loses to them….ouch!!!!

The NHL needs to send an actual message to the Blackhawks this time. Something along the lines of firing Ottawa's coach, stripping two second rounders from Arizona, awarding Chicago with Macklin Celebrini and only allowing Vegas to be an extra 20 million over the cap. That should show everyone how serious this matter is, and how fair and unbiased the league is. Take THAT, Chicago.

The issue with the Oilers goes back to just after their Cup run in 2006. The issue is not the head coaches (they have their slip ups now and then), the GMs are part of it but not the whole issue (bad trades, bad signings, bad picks at the draft don't help anyone, yes), scouting and player development can only go so far, so that isn't the issue. That leaves the players themselves (do they want to be here or do they want out?), the assistant coaches, and the ownership group (are we looking at another Thrashers situation where the owners don't care about building a legit contender like what we saw with the Sabres a couple years back, or is something else happening behind closed doors?). Something has plagued this team for the past 17 years. We keep changing coaches and GMs every 2-3 years, tried hundreds of skaters and goaltenders, and it's only gotten us 4 series wins in 8 series played during 4 playoff appearances since that '06 Cup run.
The only goalie who is good enough to help Edmonton and happens to be available is John Gibson.
Josh Anderson trade value is low atm. It's only 10 games in he is streaky

as for the hawks, though they're my favorite team, they should have the league throw the book at them for covering up what happened to kyle beach and who knows how many other players;
